Iron rings
I'm not using Iron Rings at the moment, but an extra 1-4 physical damage would be equivalent to possibly 250 dps.

The fixed bonus from anything can't be on par with primary sources of that bonus. Otherwise it become required and restricts the build it was designed to enhance. If they made the bonus too high, it would break builds rather than create them. You wouldn't want to HAVE to use iron rings, would you?

"I disagree. Fixed bonuses should be on par with primary sources. Or else it is misleading to players. Because as it stands, it doesn't "enhance" anything, it adds a negligible, nearly non-existent, amount of dps to any build that isn't a Facebreaker.. " This. Currently only theorycrafters and forum readers know how it works. It is missleading for the great majority of the players. This message was delivered by GGG defence force.

Spoiler
" Let's say a physical Dual-wielder who has 160 Strength, 188% Physical Damage Passives, 2x 300 DPS weapons with 1.6 aspd, and using Cleave, Melee Physical Dmg, and Added Fire Dmg Supports. The way +Phys Dmg is currently calculated an Iron Ring, 1-4 Phys Dmg, will only add: ~10.2 DPS Whereas how +Phys Dmg should be calculated, would add: ~32.6 DPS As you can see, the first example is so inconsequential, that it is pointless. And the second example, is ~1% (.93) DPS increase, which is still significantly less than what other Accessories (Like the newly buffed Rustic Sash), or other Uniques add.. " Rustic Sash buffs Iron Rings, for your information. Which makes the whole Iron Ring debacle even harder to know for the common player. This message was delivered by GGG defence force. Last edited by mazul#2568 on Jun 11, 2013, 1:56:55 PM

Iron rings are by far the worst base rings in the game mostly because physical base builds are not very popular and even then 30% resistances or 30 life will generally be worth more than 1-4 physical damage.

Personally, I think Iron Rings should be buffed to 6-10% Increased Physical Damage (~Half of Rustic Sash, and similar to BlackHeart/LeHeup.) It'd be useful for a wider range of builds, Facebreakers could still benefit from them, and Rings can still roll flat damage as well.

Having a static dmg mod on a ring doesn't make any sense because at high levels it's useless. I like the new crit ring. I think iron should just add a % like the rustic sash.

Another physical buff that will nerf Facebreaker users (1-4 phys is superior to 4-6% physical damage with my gear set). I honestly like how Iron Rings are at the moment, they have a niche use at the moment. I don't see why it should get more attention than things like Coral Amulets, which kind of need much bigger changes.
