Iron rings
Lol, you are very much misinformed. My rings give me over 1k dps each.

"But are you Facebreaker Build? Because that's the only one that gets affected by it. For example, Pillar of the Gods doesn't benefit anywhere near as much from +Phys Dmg. A normal, non-Facebreaker physical damage build, would gain barely anything. I heard Kripp did testing, and it just adds the Phys Dmg after all modifiers (On a non-Facebreak build.) Maybe Kripp was wrong, or they changed it? *shrug* But that doesn't change the people whining about Pillar of Gods not working.. So I have no idea. >_< EA IGN: We_Have_Monk_at_Home *Burnt out and waiting for either PoE1 League or new PoE2 Classes.* Last edited by Sheriff_K#3938 on Jun 11, 2013, 12:05:58 PM

That 1-4 is definitely affected by all mods. So that means on average my two iron rings are giving me 4-14 more physical damage (lol)
yes, I think they could use a buff. |

You are very much misinformed.
The reason Pillar of the Caged God doesn't work properly is because + physical mods are not included when Increased Melee Physical Damage (except the gem) is calculated from Passives and Strength, so it modifies the unmodified weapon damage of the staff, which sucks. An increase to the physical component of the Iron Ring would give an unnecessary DPS buff to Facebreakers imo, so Iron Rings have their own little niche spot among FB users. |

Not everything needs to be equally good all of the time.
Like the OP said, iron rings are strong in the early game; and eventually you will probably replace them with prismatics, corals or whatever. It's a very similar story to low-level uniques like Wanderlust or Goldrim. Later in the game iron rings are still useful as a crafting commodity. |

"But isn't that exactly what I said though? o_0 Aka, everything but Facebreaker's, doesn't get the +Phys Dmg mods affected by their modifiers. EA IGN: We_Have_Monk_at_Home *Burnt out and waiting for either PoE1 League or new PoE2 Classes.* Last edited by Sheriff_K#3938 on Jun 11, 2013, 12:31:20 PM

No because it is still modified by all the skill damage calculations. The added physical damage is only ignored from a single calculation, which is fairly minor.

Prismatic Rings were great... now they are gone
what makes you think GGG wants to make another Ring great? ^^ |

"Fairly minor? It is the most significant calculation. So what you're saying, is +Phys Dmg only gets affected by Damage Effectiveness and Support Gems, and not any Increased Physical Damage modifiers, be it from Str, Passives, or Uniques? This is how they should be calculated: (YourPhysDamage+PhysDmg) * (1+(IncPhys%+Str%)) * 1.X ... * 1.Z But this is how they are calculated (At least as far as I understand): (YourPhysDamage * (1+(IncPhys%+Str%))+PhysDmg) * 1.X ... * 1.Z *X-Z are Multipliers. how exactly are Iron Rings giving you an additional 1K damage? I would venture a guess that any ring with the mods you have on yours would give you a very similar increase. Unless you have found some other amazing way to boost them up (beside the facebreakers)
