Tips for Act II boss?

All this silliness.

Here's what you do:

- Summon boss
- Kite for 5 minutes or so until you've had enough time to observe his behavior and sequencing.
- In this time, only kill adds.
- Apply brain and divine a workable strategy.

He is so stupidly easy, you don't have to get hit even once. Even if you're melee.

Yeah he was a pain in the ass^^

Actually I had to tactics on killing him. I could run circles and beat him if in the right situation. But this takes forever... The other option is go in, stack 4 Viperstacks on him and bash him until your death and do this until he is death...

The first method is without dying, the second method is if you want to beat him fast^^. You should level up to avoid a death-penalty.

It's fun to avoid him with ranged chars, but for melees it is often a pain, since you sometimes can't even target the adds, since they are standing right inside him.

Ranged characters have quite a lot to deal with compared to melee characters. I had to deal with lasers, falling rocks (why this is even a game mechanic I have no idea), and ice spread. I believe melee characters have to avoid the laser and the melee attack. I'm not sure how far is the radius of the ice spread (inner vs outer radius), only that I know it spreads pretty far.

It's just that if I start putting in Passives into life instead of attackspeed/physdamage, I end up with a more beefed up ranger with shitty DPS/DPH, of which is pretty low considering none of my shots do no more than 900 DPH.

Kite, kite and use any AOE/DOT by the way- poison arrow, firestorm or even traps works very well (or minions). I think trying to kill him mele is very risky. Anyway- if you dont have enough life/resists- he will one-shot you with laser, it's a good idea to have boots with movement bonus

To me this kind of fight isn't fun, and I'm not sure why they made this type of boss. What's fun about a boss where you have to spend most of your time running around? That's not skill, or challenging, it's just a PITA. Feels too much like elites in D3 inferno to me. Very sad to see part of this game move in that direction.

If not dodging and adapting to some boss patterns isn't related to skill, then I do not know. Your definition of skill seems to be able to go 1on1 autoattack a boss to death. Maybe you are expecting the wrong things from a HnS.

Hey all

Since this was added in the last patch, I've yet to kill this thus unable to progress through the games higher difficulties.

I've found the encounter more frustrating than fun but rather than simply giving up, I'd like to here what you guys have done to defeat this bad boy.

I've tried this on a Sword/Board Templar (normal) and a Claw shadow (Diff after Normal) with little success. I've had max Lightning resist and tried the running around bit all to no avail. You simply cannot get enough hits into the boss to do any significant damage.

So guys, what did you do?

If you dont have enough survivability to facetank or even kite him, then group up.

I have 3500 life right now and im being demolished in the first lvl 66 maps.
Either start getting life right now or you are going to feel the pain later on.
You should plan to get atleast 3-4k life towards endgame, otherwise your skillbuild is shit.
