Fisting in 11.1 HanFistedFirst - Lvl 81 Facebreaker/Bringer of Rain Melee Build [Updated]
Finally got some currency to give this build a try. Just started and currently lvl 37 and loving it! Just a couple of questions, what are your thoughts on using lioneyese remorse shield? seems like the life, armour and block chance would work great with this build. Only problem I see is problems with maxing out resists. Also from what I gather you drop added fire for blood magic for aoe clear when you spec out of passive blood magic? Cheers for a great build!

" Funny you should ask about Lioneye's Remorse VS Daresso's. I was just making that little decision 2 days back. Daresso's helps you to achieve those max resists faster, but you'll need 3 high rolls to beat a good rare shield. Regardless, having tri-res on shields helps to free up ring slots from prismatics, so you can try for phys damage + IAS on an Iron Ring or something. It also has block chance for spells on low life, but I really can't comment on how helpful that is. Lioneye's can potentially roll much higher armor than the best rare shield, and it gives you life to boot, too. That additional life probably works out to around 150-200 actual life. But you'll probably have to run prismatics for the resistances, even with Carnage Heart. Alternatively, you can try to get life + all res + high % armor roll on a rare shield. I have this sitting around: However, that loses to both unique shields on armor and tri-res rolls (max inc. armor is 120%, max res is 16 to all IIRC). At the end of the day, if you already have 2 superb prismatics, then go IMO go for Lioneye's. However, if you want to maximize your damage and/or don't have 2 superb prismatics, then Daresso's. I'd wager they're both around 3 GCPs or so for high rolls. If you happen to pick up a superb rare shield with armor/life/resistances all on the highest tier, then that's potentially the best balance you can get. Until then, either of the uniques as reasoned above. P.S. My pre-flask pre-bringer armor dropped from 15k to 11k after changing a 1k armor rare shield for the Daresso's. I feel it makes a difference, so factor that in however you will. Last edited by _avenged_#2732 on Jul 1, 2013, 5:45:53 AM

Daresso's should never be considered as an endgame item, nor should Lioneye's Remorse. Daresso's will not provide the defences you require for endgame play, and Lioneye's has decent defense, but barely any resistances, considering how hard gearing is with limited slots already, having a solid shield with resists is key.
However, both shields can be considered budget options, mainly Lioneye's Remorse. Last edited by Acrosis#6154 on Jul 1, 2013, 1:43:18 PM

@acrosis - When do you think we should try to switch out Daresso's considering I've had little issue in 70s maps with yellow rolls? Just wondering.

I used Daressos until i put on an abyss, then i decided i needed as much armor as i could get and used lioneyes, when i found a great sheild i had already put on bringer of the rain. There are many viable, some more than others variations on your facebreaker build, do what works, strive to make smart choices.

hi.
Im "new" to this game and could need some advices :D I currently try to run this build but i failed 2 times till now :P, playing onslaught. (lvl 52 and 3x died) My Gear @ lvl 36
Spoiler
Is it enough to go to the next difficulty? How should i lvl there best? Quest in grp and always grind to get some lvls? what flasks should i put in? +armor and +resi and 2 lifepots? looks like i can only run all auras at the same time at higher lvl right? currently i only can run 2 + tempest shield. " I feel like the increased duration immortal call build that has been mentioned in this thread is likely the best if you're using Abyssus. As for the nature of this comment, I think we all recognize in here that getting a solid tri resist shield if you have the currency is ideal for this build. However, I will add by saying that the only two deaths I've recorded since dying to a corpse explode that Rainku saw have been one shots on elemental reflects in Lunaris when I wasn't paying attention and one desync in a 72 map. That's been about 2 and half weeks of sporadic playing in the evenings. My question was a simple one, since I've had little trouble doing mid 70s yellow maps and the such with this build: When do we see it necessary to switch out of daresso's? It hasn't been a problem for me so far, which I'm happy about, but I was more curious than anything as I'm sitting on a couple options that I can switch into that are survivability upgrades (they just aren't as manly as daresso's). In general, though, _avenged_ advice on shields is spot on and takes into account all considerations pretty well! Not to derail, but I don't think any of us here think my build is the best or the only build for facebreakers. In fact, I wrote this guide, my first ever for this game, to encourage people to have as much fun as I was having, not to mention putting together a map viable character that puts out immense damage on a very small budget comparatively. " Well, my most recent death is doing a rare lv74 Maze map with two vaals. I was in a very crappy group and tried to tank both vaals. Yea, enough to say, I died but it wasn't like those one shot death that I hate. I think I got beam + rock slam from two vaals! I also did some ele reflect map recently, a lv72 rare map one, it was fine, I just use dominating blow. But as usual, I got d/c before I even see the boss. I almost always got d/c in a group map situation, and this limit me to want to go to hc, :( so far, I can't find any build that do lunaris farming safer/cheaper/faster than my build. I really appreciate hanfistfirst for the guide to let me came out my own life/frenzy build. I enjoy this character the most overall! IGN: Rainku_Arc

And so I finally hit 67, and put on my shiny new helmet, and GOOD LAWD WHAT IS THIS DISGUSTING THING? I FEEL SUPER ALREADY!
In fact, I put on my helmet, did the gems properly, and then clicked on Docks just to test shit out... And the game crashed. That's how much awesome this build style is. |
