To all the melee players out there...
" I do hate saying this, but "Give em time". It's not entirely easy to balance a game where each class can do what the others can. Easy fix in D3 for example was a flat % reduction, and this cannot work here. While increasing phys dmg was a step in the right direction, they still have a ways to go. Things like war crys that group enemies together. Not just end cry which has them target you, but actually being to able to maneuver them to your benefit. |

i still not understand why the dont give us a 20% dmg reduction wearing a melee weapon. this could be a mod on swords, axes, maces etc. so i think melee characters would benefit mostly. At the moment it is a melee nerf:
aura on bosses nerfed -- kole onehits me life reduced--- kole onehits me etc. but anyway it is a great patch and a great game (still hoping for4 a melee buff) best regards Dont forget why u play games

Well, things like daggers/1h maces/staves can all be both melee and caster based.
I also wouldn't be surprised if casters would start using a 1h sword just for the mitigation (especially in HC), if you could only get them from 1h swords as an example. |

but it is still possible that u benefit from this mod only then, when ur character is i melee range. if u arent i melee range u have no benefit and no dmg reduction

So far I've been quite happy with the buff to my ele cleavist. He's level 71 and only had like 3.3k life, now has right at 3k after patch. Cleave went from 5.5k dps to 7.7k. I've only ran a few lv 67 maps with him so far, but I've definitely noticed an overall reduction in monster dmg.
So far I'm happy with the patch. Haven't really tried my facebreaker yet, but it seems he did not get much of a dps boost at all. |

My build was a bit hurt by this change, but i did some respecing, and now I'm more powerful then i was before. I use aegis aurora build with 2k life and 1,5 es with 10k armor 65% block and 37% spell block. I have 8 k dps on 4l glacial hammer and almost 5k dps on ground slam 5l. Due to patch and respecing i lost 1k hp and 500 es.

I can take Vaal merci smash with just a granite up now ;D 4K life 80% fire res, 77% DR with the granite.

I was inactive for months because of the desync issues and unbalance between ranged and melees. Last week i logged in with my lvl 76 duelist for a quick kole run and i think i take a little bit more dmg from him than before. The desync has increased in my opinion , so no more money from me until this s*** is fixed.

Shadow Dual Claw CI Build - yeah it's worse for me... bosses and mini bosses are hitting harder than before... ES is reduced , leech was increased but it doesn't help keep me alive as I get damaged faster than I can leech when ganged...(20% leech and doing over 6K dps) flight required even more than before unless fighting the lowest of mobs (all whites) dungeons suck worse because of the confined area and increased need for flight as part of a hit and run attack strategy.... reliance on crappy flasks increased...cluelessness as to what would make for a better playing experience seems to have been once again well illustrated.
To be fair there are a few pluses but the overall balance really did not improve nor did solo survivability in maps .. well at least for my niche build. We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.
