Pure Phys Bow for 11.2 (Split Arrow/Crit/Frenzy Updated 7-19-13

the only time I die from Physical reflect mobs, is when Im not paying attention. And i Still drop them just using frenzy, I just go slower, 1 shot at a time instead of lacing 30shots at once. Regen, potions, and leech. and i can keep my self above 50% health.
Hi Addister,

I've recently returned to playing PoE after months of inactivity. My only high leveled char is a softcore Phys bow ranger, so I've decided to revive it. As I said, it has been a while since I last played or even followed PoE news, so I was a bit overwhelmed by the complete passive reset. I was too nervous to respec my Ranger given my lack of knowledge, but at the same time I was frustrated that I couldn't play her since she had no passives!

Luckily I found your guide and decided to follow your passive build. My ranger plays pretty similar as before, and I'm happy about that (so thank you!). I notice one major difference is previously my Ranger was using Iron Grip and thus derived her defense from armor, whereas yours is dodge-based. I assume this is because Iron Grip is no longer viable due to the "Dexterity does not provide evasion" stipulation?

Now I'm trying to figure out how to best improve my Ranger. Although I have respecced her to copy your passive builld, I have not touched her gear/gems at all. They are the same as what I had 5 months ago, and I notice a few differences in our support gems. I would greatly appreciate it if you or others could review my gear/gems and offer advice as to how I can upgrade my ranger to the 21st century!

My gear
Spoiler

Any advice would be much appreciated. As you can see, my support gems differ slightly from yours, particularly for Split Arrow (and I'm a little self-conscious about this).

Thanks,

Nairul

I recently acquired a blood dance and i wonder how it would fit into the build (besides the obvious frenzy charge) how much would the reduced attack speed per charge hurt?

the boots reduce your attack speed by 3% per charge and a frenzy charge gives you 5% atk speed per. So with my setup (5 frenzy charges using the boots) I gain 10% attack speed instead of 25% without the boots. But the main reason for using the boots is the 1% life regen per frenzy charge witch allows you to run blood rage with no life degen on a life build.

Same here, I will let my totem burn the mob down and i'll throw in a frenzy shot now and again :P

Hi !

Do you think its worth it to take the phase acrobatics nod ? This would mean 30% dodge + 20% spell dodge.
I'm thinking of pushing the "no life" dodge/evasion oriented build to its maximum. Do you think this could be a good alternative for people with cheaper gear who still want some decent damage/crit (ie not so many life nods) ?

honestly i've never tried phase acrobatics. Ondar's is insanely op and you hardly get his by projectiles with it which is great. For spell damage it shouldnt really be a problem if your resists are capped. The main issue after that is physical damage mobs, which with this build the whole point is to kill the shit before it gets to you :P

Yo, i've been neglecting my Ranger, been busy crafting and leveling my Power Siphon witch, I'll try to update my Ranger tree/equipment this evening.

Alright, thanks for your answer. I think I'm still gonna try it. Since I don't have a very good gear, I'm not resist capped and I don't have that much life. When I'll get better items, I'll respec.

Well let me know how it works man, I may try phase acrobatics if you find some success with it :)
