You can only use it once and then it is consumed.

Best way to use it would probably be after alt+regal 3 perf mod group rare, then each time you get an successful high exalt mod.

So they will be used as many times as exalts are used, therefore they probably will be worth the same as 1 exalted unless their droprate differs alot compared to exalted.

Do anyone know how it works btw? You use the eternal orb and the item gets a indicator that it got saved, the eternal orbs poffs, then what when you want to revoke the stats? You right click and choose either to revoke stats or delete the save?

Chris or someone mentioned there 'might be' (read: will be) a vendor recipe of an item with a saved state from an Eternal Orb and 'maybe' (read: definitely) an Orb of Regret to remove the saved state and allow the updated item to be usable.

Which is nice that Orbs of Regret get a little use for players who get by with just quest respec points.

Um.. Do you have a source for this? That doesn't sound right at all.

In the announcement thread, all Chris said was:

We're probably going to add a vendor recipe for unneeded imprints. Possibly an Orb of Regret? ;)

The "possibly" is just alluding to the fact that they said an orb that's never had a recipe will have one in the new update already.

I've heard nothing about needing to use an orb to begin using the item after making an imprint of it. That would be really dumb, considering the only purpose of an imprint is to make an unusable copy of it, why would you need to lock the item down as well while it's being modified?

Its a brilliant concept that will allow the eventual creation of truly perfect 6 mod items with 6 ideal tier 1 affixes.

The issue is the cost to create such an item even if eternal orbs were "only" 2-4 exalts would be astronomical and for what? Mirroring services with the exception of a few key items are mostly dead and even the best items do not sell for more than 30-40 exalts barring some minor exceptions.

My bad, misread it all.

Thought imprint would be a property that applied to an item that let it have two sets of stats on it at once, but only one would function at a time.

The whole crafting system is a brilliant concept. The currency drop rates gimp it into novelty, though. Kinda like damage nodes on the passive tree. Seems GGG is learning, though, so hopefully they'll make the necessary changes to make the crafting system shine in the future.
No. Calm down. Learn to enjoy losing.
