In hindsight the chat involved in this case probably shouldn't have been cause for a muting. The text was reported at a time that a number of other unrelated players were partaking in some real spam, so at first glance ARPGfan's chat looked like more of the same, but seeing the wider context afterward, not so much. Sorry about that.

" We usually only turn on "blue mode" when we need to speak officially, usually when doling out a punishment. Makes me wish there was something similar for the forums. |

I understand this is personal opinion, but it always amuses me when people complain about being chat banned. I guess I don't understand needing to say anything that much.
Worst case scenario: you are not able to provide people with information that would be helpful to them. Though, being that you got chat banned you probably weren't doing that anyhow, so why would anyone need to hear what you were going to say? |

They need to be consistent. If he did say 'suck your own dick', and now GGG said they shouldn't have muted, why did a guy I traded told me he got 30 mi. Mute for saying "fucktard"?

Sometimes when it is a minor/troll offense, we'll give a warning and explain the rules. We handle every report/email on a case by case basis. A lot of the time it comes down to the person handling the case and their judgement as to what happens. Our staff and mods are humans, sometimes humans make mistakes. With the example you've given: "told me he got 30 mi. Mute for saying "fucktard" What did he say before and after 'fucktard'? If they were being extremely offensive or perhaps racist etc, all his comments would of been considered when he was given the mute. |
