"Muted for chat spam", but I wasn't spamming.

I was just talking in general chat and then get muted.

Are they so uptight that if you talk more than someone else likes in chat and get reported that you get muted for it?

I have to say this has completely turned me off to this MMO of a game and I was even considering buying some cosmetic stuff soon, but now that's not very likely.

I'm actually outraged because I know for a fact I wasn't doing anything wrong, yet people are unable to use the ignore feature and just report instead like ignorant children...
Complaining about it here won't help you at all. If you believe you were incorrectly muted, report it to support. Sometimes moderators do accidentally mute the wrong person.

Usually though, the people who complain about it here deserved it.

Sure you were.

The "quality" of your in-game chat was definitely more wrong than right, let alone the quantity.

It was a GGG support staff that muted you, not a moderator.
In any event, e-mail support@grindinggear.com to plead your case.
Also it was a 10 minute mute which is a warning.

Not me, but maybe it will help someone else realized chat is on lockdown.
It´s funny how everybody was "just about to spend some money on the game"... ^^
"Ta-Ta, not-a-cockroach"
Yea I was muted also, done with this shit

Winter_Mute_ Really tired, of getting entrapped in to some bullshit mute system by some "I think i know what I am doing" mod

Really really annoys me to have to deal with tons of random chat messages constantly in the trade chat, and oh I tell them to "Fuck off" and that is not the "Core of the game"

I can ware if I want bro, aslong as its not towards anyone..

I know it proberly goes against the shaming side of it. But I got a real kick out of a mod showing what the offended had said that was wrong. Maybe just me :D

Face saving Protip: turn off trade chat.
POE is a constantly evolving game, so expect balance changes, buffs and nerfs STILL!

the solution is quite simple: keep the conversations civilized, and avoid excessive spamming (mainly applies to trade chat).

the only time I got a 10 minute mute (since Open Beta started), was about 2 months ago, for repeating the same "WTB" message 4 times in a row in trade chat.
and I knew I was violating the rules, despite being a new player back then.
just thought I won't get caught.

if you need a 10 minute mute from a chat mod (GGG staff member) to tell you you're doing something wrong, you probably don't know what "civilized conversation" means.
