New energy shield feedback
I currently like the energy shield it is easy to keep on top of even if I begin to space.

In its current iteration I do not like the energy shield when it takes up most of the health globe (too distracting).
Toning down the brightness of the shield may do that or making it transparent. RIP Bolto

I really dont have any feedback on the ES as I dont have max ES. I do think however that a more bold n thicker line above the current xp bar could work. Make it flash at say 20%, that seems to be a solid point thats 1/5th of your ES shouidnt need more warning that that.
With a 20% warning it wouldnt matter if you had 15 or 200 this is going by clvl ofcourse and would obviously be impacked by Mlvl. I do think there should be a warning system for a low ES. |

Like a few others have already said, I don't think the shield : HP ratio is something you need to be reminded of during active gameplay. It's not a variable that's constantly updating like HP, mana, or the shield value itself - things that you need to keep track of while playing.
Shield : HP ratio is more akin to values like crit rating, which is something you should be aware of before rather than after you start playing and is thus appropriately summarized in the character sheet. In fact, I would say that crit rating probably has more claim to being a part of the active UI simply because it can vary during active gameplay (via frenzy charges etc). " Also, absolutely do not do this. The UI is already inconvenient enough as it is with HP/Shield being on one side and Mana on the other. I don't want to have to zoom over three different spots on the UI just to check my vital statistics when what I should be focusing on is the main screen. See this thread. |

Also, just to flesh out this business of "ratio":
Players are not concerned with the relative size of a globe and a half-globe in the middle of a firefight, especially if they know the sizes beforehand. The eshield meter needs to be a quick read; "I'm at half" or "I'm out." In combat, they're not really looking at the size of it, they're only looking at where it's at. So there's no benefit to making the sizes ratio-based; it doesn't visually provide any information that players care about. But there are drawbacks. Some noob at witches picks up a +life amulet, looks at his health globe, and goes "What did this thing do to my eshield?!" (It didn't do anything, it just changed the ratio.) And then there's the mid-game confusion of "okay, my energy shield looks like this now, does it go down the same as before?" Subtly altering the graphic screws with people's quick-reads of their information. NotSorry: Bot d3 for cash, play POE all day

I have to say that I really like the way the new energy shield overtakes your health orb. I think its easy to see how depleted it is, and it draws your peripheral vision better when a thin bar.
I say even if this is changed, at least make it an option, so that those of us who enjoy the current iteration of the energy shield can keep it! -------------------------------------------------------------

As a Witch player, my energy shield is as important as my health bar, if not more important, I thought It could fill the whole orb, improving it's visibility instead of the current state where it really weird, filling like 50% of it. It would be like those old beat'em up games where bosses bar had many colors, and as it depleted the other bar started to go down.

I think energy shield at higher levels and higher game difficulties isn't viable by itself.
I don't know if your guys' intention is to make a pure energy shield user a viable option or if you want us to be required to use dr in conjunction with it, but currently it cannot stand on its own. I think you should be able to somehow restore it like health and mana.
