Based upon the most recent state of the game and a recent chat by Chris I believe they are tweaking the timers for certain Items. I would not be surprised if we see patch notes announcing this change soon.

If this is true I forsee it doing nothing to make people any happier with the system. Just a guess. Don't tweak the timers, give options like basically all of the critics have asked for.

Oh for the love of all things good about gaming please please let's not ask for longer timers. That would have a truly horrible effect on gameplay.

Just for a second consider that I almost always play with a partner. I go for a chest and he goes for a different chest. Each chest spits out 1 wisdom scroll. As often as not, my chest pops a scroll with his name on it, and his pops a scroll with my name on it. So we either both lose out on the wisdom scroll we should have been able to loot, or we wait out the 5 seconds (or whatever). Now imagine how exciting that wisdom scroll gets when the loot timer says 30 seconds like some folks suggest? No dice.

Just find a way to implement loot options so that FFA can really be FFA, and instanced loot lovers can have their way too. I am not married to the idea, but would gladly jump straight on board for loot options over having 30 second timers on wisdom scrolls.
They are not going to extend the timer on wisdom scrolls.

From what I have read they will remove the timers on wisdom/portal scrolls and magic items. I expect them to increase the base timer for rare level and currency from armor shards – alchemy. For unique items and currency > alchemy I predict the 30 second timer or permanent assigned.

Well, I guess if they go with only much more valuable things on this extended timer business, then I would only be minorly inconvenienced. That is acceptable.

I think they should lose the timer from currency that is sub-alch value, and also blue items altogether. I just have to believe no-one has their panties in a twist over someone 'stealing' their wisdom scrolls.....and blue items have generally less value to me than some whites or even quality items (lol).
It does not matter even if they increase rare loot timers.Sometimes I just click my item like 2 times, and still don't get it.

So make 2 looting options for groups, ffa and instanced looting.

People who want to focus on hardcore gaming and don't give a crap about other people's drops, can play instanced.

People who want the game of theft, can play ffa.

Problem solved.

Click the item and hold it. Don't keep clicking it.

For example, imagine trying to hold mouse click when 2 legendary drops to you.
no instance loot

for increased loot timers.

Yeah I don’t care about wisdom scrolls, and when playing in a group if I grabbed the last portal scroll I will use it when asked. Alteration <–> Glassblower does have value and I would not want to see them go full FFA. Maybe they could keep the current timer and increase the base timer for alchemy and higher.

Removing the timer on blue items and scroll would not inconvenience me much. Removing the timer for some items and increasing it for others seems like a reasonable compromise that would make many players happy.

So you expect to get 2 "uniques" on 1 drop in a public game? lol?

In public games you need to commit to certain drops you want. Click and commit.

Thats about it.
