Looting -- The official thread for discussing the loot system. Updated 18th March, 2013.

Still hate the loot system in pugs.

The loot should be locked to a user until all monsters are cleared in the loot drop area. This is because one person may be fighting a monster and a loot drops but while fighting the other members try to grab the loot instead of helping and before the person fighting has a chance to see the loot and try to get it.

I would scrap the system and just make all drops locked to the particular user it drops for. I am still upset that I had 2 unique drop and some random people took them before I could get to it.

The current system encourages stopping the fight to grab loot before anyone else which is counter productive to "grouping".

haters/trolls gonna hate but I'm not the only one who feels this way.

+@mibuwolf

if you are interested in a suggestion actually doing exactly that, among other things, please read this one:

i still need good honest opinions about it.

interestingly enough, chris mentioned in the interview, that they are against loot dropping fully allocated as a simple reward for players progress through the game.
But he didnt mention that they would be against any idea, making the allocation dependent on the players performance and therefore adding true competition between party members.

Seems cool. Didn't read all of it and just glanced it, but I got the gist of it all. I honestly wouldn't mind such a change. But yea I'll read it after I'm done eating.

Well, it seems that everyone needs to find some friends. Or that the other side of the loot community needs to make a group that plays strictly with others who don't "ninja loot". I see this as the only possibility for those players currently.

Who knows, it's still a beta, things aren't set in stone. Have hope, but don't be blinded by it.

When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself

That too, I play solo because I like going at my own pace.

I play with my friends for when they're on.

You don't need to group up in a public game to enjoy the game. I've had plenty of fun playing solo and playing with a bunch of strangers you don't know doesn't enhance the game what so ever.
