" So you're saying singleplayer is like clicking a stash for the best items? Because singleplayer and instanced loot is pretty much identical minus the social aspect. |

I love the idea of ffa looting. Its a rush when you have to be real alert during a boss fight when in a party.

Have been playing this game a while now and love a lot about it. So much that I went gold when it came to supporting it's development. That said, the looting system is something I always warn people about when they ask me about the game because it sucks and is in no way fair. Anybody with high latency or playing a ranged character is at a severe disadvantage when it comes to picking up their loot
Ninja looting is so bad that I rarely party with strangers anymore. And most of my friends are on default or work so much they are rarely on. And this game is so much more enjoyable in a party. There are things you can try to do like putting "no ninja looting" in your party description when you make one; but this never stops it completely. There is always the inevitable bitching about someone stealing somebody's drop and then you have to play babysitter and decide who to kick. I find this to be an unnecessary hassle. I want to play my game not deal with people who know better but act like an ass regardless. I really think instanced looting is the way to go. If people really want a free for all/cut throat feel go ahead and make a cut throat league so I can go ahead and kill people's characters when my drops are stolen. The current system just promotes douchebaggery with zero accountability. |

" i mostly fully agree with you. lets keep it at that since there is no need to say things i quoted again. but i am against instanced loot. i like that there is evrything in one and that people can see what drops/pick up what others dont want. think proper looting is achieveable by : a) strongly increasing loot times for regular items and MAYBE add a timer for highly linked pieces near to your level. b) "currency",uniques and MAYBE gems just belonging to the player since there is no reason NOT to pick em up. this would keep the flavour of the current looting without the douchebag and "i hate this game,ONCE something drops for me and that !"§§%& stole it while i fought for the party" factor. ign: Lucador / Zashah

imho this is the only thing that spoils the comunity in this game, some people think a bad attitude in a game will have no effect on they're RL but if you play with that attitude for long enough theres a good chance it will.i personaly dont like feeling like someone stole something from me,and i like less the people who run and grab stuff from under other peoples nose ..i think the timer just needs to be a little longer so if its missed its missed and if not it yours, and for the other leagues too.

" to make this very simple: EVRYONE hats beeing stolen from. just a part likes stealing from others solution to make majority happy = make stealing hard/impossible. ign: Lucador / Zashah

" You can't even get tp's in public parties most of the time unless you yell enough. Everyone's like "someone will do it" yet no one does, so it is pretty crappy. When chain farming instances, there's always miscomunication about who resets them. On top of that instance creater gets home advantadge ping wise, so it is desireable in the current FFA environment. Result = parties broken across several instances. So yeah, pretty much zero comunication. There's also the fact that with the current loot mechanics, if something drops mid-sentence you might miss it, so FFA encourages people to don't say anything, to keep silent, every vigilant about loot. In my exerience, as bad as D3 groups can be too in this regard, a) They do not have to open tp's, just click on the banner. Less frustrating than waiting for a tP. b) They won't miss loot if they blink so they MIGHT be chattier. Sometimes they are, sometimes they are not. Closed beta player, August 2011
