The reason we like FFA is because it's faster, not because it is hardcore. The dev was right that minimizing time spent fussing over gear = better fun. I am not speaking on behalf of the hardcore, this is my opinion.

Are you really telling me current instance clearing is "faster"?? REALLY? Are you high? :D
.

You progress faster than if it was instanced. There is no denying this.

You haven't played EVE, I see.

In EVE no matter your sec status, EVERYBODY CAN ATTACK ANYBODY, NO RESTRICTIONS.

The purpose of the red flag, is not so you can attack them. That's a right granted just by playing eve. It just let's you know that player has attacked other players in the past.

The same way, players in PoE could get a red flag if they ninja items. And by the way, since you haven't played EVE, in that game the system isn't binary red/green. Its a scale that goes from 10 to 0. At some point (5? I dont remember) those players show red in the game UI.

Seriously, if you haven't played the game I am referencing and something is not clear, ask before going in all out flame mode. You look silly otherwise.

I haven't played EVE :) made me chuckle. I have 3 accounts playing for the last 5 or 6 years and making money ouf ot it (selling gc)

Then you knew what I was talking about. Why make the wrong point about that other game then?

EDITED: unnecessary slant, discussion does not need more flame fuel.

1) There are apparently quite a few people who can't reach the item before the timer for whatever their excuse may be. Guess you just called a majority of the people in this thread and others retarded.

Legitimate issues acknowledged by dev.

People plese be reasonable. Also playing ranger and its imposible to loot anything. Especially when boss drops his loot for example 30 objects and screen is full of objects its imposible to loot anything especially two items its madness. Please extend loot time.

GGG having issues keeping up with server capacity? Over 60,000 people from across the world playing daily?

You know, what matters is how many actually pay for cosmetics.
Because a growing player base gets costs up, but if few pay for cosmetics gets income down.

Maybe I enjoy Instanced loot? Maybe I can have my own opinions? Maybe there are no "facts" that instanced loot is terrible. To me there is fun, there is skill...
Exactly the same can be said regarding instanced-loot.
That is why having loot-options is the only real solution to this loot-problem.
That is why all the people who are resisting or are against introducing loot-options in this game are wrong/unreasonable.

I'll be getting a cosmetic when I get extra money. Although, yes, people paying for cosmetics actually do matter, it's a shame they can't make you pay for cosmetics. Do you have a point with what you even said at all? On the game side of people playing, I honestly see more people in game complaining about random disconnections rather than how much they hate the FFA loot system. Then well, when you come to the forums, you get this. Actually, I don't think I've seen anyone in game complain about the loot system. I have seen tons and tons and tons of people bitching about them getting disconnected after they grab a unique, or after killing a boss or just before they found the way point. Disconnections and server issues sound more like a priority than "fixing" the loot system.

It's fine you enjoy instanced loot, there are plenty of other games that offer it. If the developers want to keep FFA loot, trying to put a hypothetical gun to their head won't change what they want, it is their game. Personally though, the reason this game appeals to me is because it's quite similar to Diablo 2, which I played god knows how many hours of.

People resisting the "option", well some are people who care about the developers original intentions rather then their wants. This game is hard. Getting loot is meant to be competitive. If the developers change their mind on the situation and add instanced loot, that's fine. If they don't change their mind and want to keep FFA loot, I'll support them as well. I don't care too much about what the loot options are because I don't feel entitled to my wants with this game. It's offering so much more that Diablo 3 ever did and ever will. I can honestly say that this game is on level with Diablo 2 and they're planning on offering even more and it makes me excited. If people leave the game because the developers don't want to change something, shame on you. You don't get to be entitled to what you want in a game, the developers do. Once you spend hours coding, modeling, texturing, setting up a server network and mainframe, etc etc, then you can be entitled to your decisions of the game. Don't call me wrong/unreasonable for supporting the developers original intentions instead of the wants of some of the players.

1) Do you think anyone without lag or low fps (which shouldn't be our concern when balancing) could possibly miss a 2 second timer to pick an item when he is literally on top of it? I bet my ass no. Which pretty much makes FFA instanced, with the added "feature" of loot camping in case someone isn't a complete retard and actually keeps fighting and loots after.

Luckily, balancing is up to dev, and dev has acknowledged those as legitimate issues.

The same amount of items drops for other people too. If you can't loot anything while they can there is something wrong with YOU
