Looting -- The official thread for discussing the loot system. Updated 18th March, 2013.
" You have? Must've missed that then. You talked about how the group works together for items and that's what I'm saying, the items belong to the group, not to you as an individual. Then when you pick it up, the item is truly yours. Until then its free for all in the group. " I never said you need real life friends to have a nice party, I said you should find other players who are interested in a fair loot distribution and add them to your friends list. Online "friends" =/= real life friends, at least to me :) Have you ever played Diablo 3? Grouping there was quite boring to me since everyone has his own loot and plays in his own "bubble"; the group members felt like bots to me most of the time. That's why I like FFA, you actually have to interact with your party members, even if the interaction sometimes means to kick people who only vacuum all the loot and don't contribute enough regarding killing the mobs. And so you don't misunderstand, I don't judge the people you call "ninjas", I just prefer not to play with them. P.S.: Maybe I also like FFA because I'm an Eve Online player :D who knows. " I agreee with you. But, as it stands now, this game uses a cutthroat story but it isn't cutthroat at all (not being able to pkill), at the same time not being softcore/default either. That is why, imho, the separate leagues should do: default (softcore with loot options), hardcore, cuttthoat ,races, etc Last edited by mobutu#5362 on Jan 31, 2013, 3:39:17 PM

"They don't want RANDOM UNORGANIZED parties to have to slow down because of a couple pricks dilly dallying. " I'd be fine with this, as default league doesn't affect me :P |

" That's exactly what these softcore players want.. let hardcore players play in their way.and softcore players in own way.. it could be separate league so economy wont mix. There is no good argument why giving players this option is bad.. |

I could settle with default league having instanced loot and hardcore league having FFA loot. But even then people would probably complain x)

I'll agree that the current system isn't good for anything but greifing but I don't want to see FFA go away. I was thinking a mode where all loot is instanced buut each player can see each others loot.
If you take someone else's loot this flags you and makes it possible for others to kill you and killing you will drop all the gear you've stolen as well as 1 random item of your own that isn't currently equipped. To prevent escaping the punishment, travel to zones that the other players aren't present in is disabled and attempts to join another party will place you in the same party that you cheated. Also if you try to play alone it will place you in the same party that you cheated. Dropping the stolen gear while in the same area as the other players that you cheated, will unflag you. " No, they don't. Thats what instanced loot people want. |
![]() |
" Then we could tell them to go to Softcore until they decided to grow chest hair. |

" I don't care how you call them..we are talking about same people.. Anyway..even if not..there are still no arguments why giving options is bad.. |
