You can call QQapaloooza. Anyways, its been fun boys. Humor intended... But, im off work now and its time to play. I won't bother you guys anymore...lol. Feel free to vent in peace. I will leave you all be. Peace. |

" Here's some food for thought: This thread, and some others dealing with the loot system, are or have been quite active. Some time ago GGG said (IIRC) that they are still listening to feedback on the matter. I don't think it's an unreasonable assumption that the loot system is the single most debated thing about this game, at least currently. Given this, and GGG's apparent interest in obtaining feedback, why do you think they haven't conducted a simple poll yet? My guess? They are fairly certain that fully instanced loot (or something along those lines) would crush any other loot system. And since that goes against their vision for the game, they're not really pushing to get that spelled out in hard numbers. I doubt anyone will actually weep if PoE stays FFA only, it's just that for some (quite a few is my guess) players it basically determines whether or not it should be considered a single player game. |

" Exactly my opinion also. And is the same reason why they wont tell us the percentage of public parties in total parties. |

" OK since you guys are not in marketing of services (PoE and games are services) So when you have a service marketing science has prove with studies that the 90% percent of dissatisfied customer do not express it to the company but to their circles (word of mouth) and all of them will stop their subscription fee in the FIRST opportunity even when the deal is either equal or sometimes even worst (money eise) deal (because they will feel that they got better consumer respect). So even if say that here is only the 10% of the community that EXPRESS their concerns about something, this 10% is huge because there alot more that do not care to read a forum and post. In fact looting is THE most discussed problem. If you wait a big number to see if looting is bad then we have serious problem (and I do not think GGG are THAT stupid) When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself Last edited by killbilly#2346 on Jan 29, 2013, 3:02:47 PM

I'm not going to read through 300+ pages on the topic, so sorry if this has already been suggested. If so, consider this another vote in favor.
I like the loot system as is. I think the loot timers are fine as they are for the most part. However, it has been brought up that ranged players are at a disadvantage of sometimes not even seeing that items dropped in their favor because others are able to get there first and wait out the timer. My solution is to have a second, invisible timer after the item has gone "public" and if another character picks up the item during that time they get a "greed mark" for lack of a better term. After accumulating X greed marks, the greedy player would begin to suffer a loot penalty receiving either fewer drops in their favor, or decreased rarity. This is not a perfect solution, but I think the idea is solid. Obviously the Devs would have to find a way to implement it that makes sense mechanically. Pros: Discourages "stealing" loot Cons: Potentially hurts sharing |

" This. For those who are against a non-FFA option, I would ask them this: 1. Does it matter to you at all that many players will only solo solely because they dislike the loot system? 2. What would you suggest to those players other than "adapt or leave"? Regardless of where you stand on loot allocation, having a lot of players leave is not good for the game. More players means more development dollars means more game. I can say with certainty that lacking group play, this game will have a shorter retention period for those players. I would LOVE to group up in this game, but I so tremendously HATE the 'loot first, kill after' playstyle of it that I will stick to soloing. In a very grind heavy game the death penalty equates to...more grinding.

" This is exactly what makes me sick when I read all of the reasoning behind why the allocation system is bad. Enjoy all of the alteration shards you fought so hard for bro... Last edited by Plastic_Cup#2372 on Jan 29, 2013, 3:35:49 PM

" And this is the biggest problem with the system, it foster frustration, harms socialization, enjoyment, longevity, etc and the only reward is increased in game inflation. IGN: Wrathmar * Paulie * Client
