Who is this event for?
|
Hi team,
I will do my best to keep things as objective as I can in my subjective feedback post. I have now reached A8, after 10h of playtime (probably about 8 without the AFK periods) and 30 deaths with 20 of them being in Act1 - just for context of my progression and experience so far in the Phrecia 2.0 event. My question to you GGG is who is the target audience of this event? It's definitely not those with limited time on our hands trying to get some dopamine and have some fun in 3-4h of gameplay / day. I don't think there are any valid reasons to why would you make bosses / mini-bosses in act 1 when players have almost no resources available turbo hasted and two shot most characters (usually a stun on the first hit followed by the 2nd hit). Things such as the hydra room traps or other slowing mechanics don't help since every boss is already faster than us. This is not a challenge is an artificially created problem that adds nothing but frustration - it's simply unfair and unfun! I respect anyone who comments and has a different perspective but I will not change mine on this matter. Additionally, the minibosses before the end of act fights...they drop nothing, nor do they give experience. The only things they do are drain us of our flasks and artificially extend every act by 2-3 minutes (assuming you don't die). Where is the fun or challenge in that? Phrecia's thematic is ascendancies.....well you did find a way to have people sell ascendancy services in PoE1 successfully now as in PoE2. Having a cocaine filled level 55 Izaro run across the entire room in 1 second and proceed to melee hit a which for more than 2.4k HP in ONE SINGLE HIT. Where is the fun or challenge in that while dodging traps, other ranged mobs attacks or other off screen abilities? Yes I could carry an arctic armour gem, farm my way for an undetermined amount of time to get a granite flask, carry around a molten shell gem also - so you could say "skill issue". But I don't consider having to prepare for my 2nd ascendancy fight like for a raid boss in an MMO fun? Coming back to my original question: Who is this event for? It's definitely not for the "regulars" is it? I have spent money - a very decent amount in support for the game, I do not make money from playing the game as others which seem to be the right audience for this event? If so please let us know in advance in capital letters "DO NOT TRY THIS EVENT IT WILL CAUSE MORE FRUSTRATION THAN FUN for the casually - regular player" Last bumped on Feb 4, 2026, 10:50:35 PM

i'm guessing its mostly for the streamers so they have some funny content to entertain their viewers with. keepers and poe2 both died off so they need a month to stream something else until new poe league

Not for 99% of players that's for sure.

This is not Phrecia 2.0.
This is SC Trade Gauntlet with Phrecia ascendancies. Whoever wanted to play actual Phrecia 2.0 didn't get to. POE2 should be the ruthless vision experience and POE1 should be the zoom power fantasy sandbox to capture both audiences. I petition to return all the fun stuff that was removed or nerfed over the years back into POE1. Last edited by Bosscannon#3325 on Feb 2, 2026, 6:57:07 AM

I really dislike this event. It feels unnecessarily complicated, and the difficulty has increased for no clear reason. I honestly don’t know who asked for these changes.
Most of the people i know quit within the first 24 hours. |

Who's the event for?
Me, for one. My friends, for several more. This event is for players who like to make their own builds instead of just copying someone else's homework. This event is for players who want a campaign that respects their time instead of insulting their intelligence. This event is for players who want boss fights which are more than just gear checks. This event is for players who just want a change up of the standard game. This event is for players who wanted to play the Gauntlet stuff but missed their chance, or for whatever reason(s) don't want to play Hardcore SSF. There are lots of people this event is for, but honestly I could probably summarize it as: the event is for the core audience of Path of Exile. |

Is not that bad but, yeah, seeing Mathil crafting yellow maps with alts and regals for the first time is gold.

To the original poster:
Thank you for a very well thought out and expressed view which I agree totally with. I lasted 2 hours and just gave up. It wasnt Phrecia 2.0 as the label said. " Perfect description and im guessing most of the players who opted out or disliked it didnt want a Gauntlet that mega gamers like to play. Its a shame really, after the amazing blast Phrecia 1.0 gave us, and the fun of new ascendancies to build with, to do this to the next version 2.0 was not a grand idea, instead it was tedious, punishing, laborious, slow, unforgiving, boring and not what Phrecia or usual GGG leagues have always provided us with. Love you GGG but, this was a boo boo... In the end, War isn't about who was right, its about who is left...

" "This event is for players who like to make their own builds instead of just copying someone else's homework" you couldnt be more wrong, this event is SPECIFICALLY worst time for anyone to roll their own. ___
