Online status on trade is stuck in 'Fetching' mode

But this is where merchant tabs come into play. Merchant tabs should fix this issue entirely. Giving it a league or two to see how it changes the market would be beneficial to a huge amount of players rather than just going scorched earth on it immediately.

No, no it didn't. If given the option, a lot of players have shown that they will just... Assume they can take the "free" way out, and will continue to list items in perpetuity that they have zero intention of relogging to actually sell.

I've not been able to buy a single item in-person since the change here that dumped "online in another league" into the same search. (that change came with Async, BTW)

It's been the consistent pattern even before merchant tabs existed that league players would just... Never relog to actually sell things listed in STD. The vast majority of these cases are de facto "league-only" players that just set up this stuff during the (less than) one week interlude after a league ends and the next begins, which marks the only time they ever log into STD.

Like, be honest here... How many times have you relogged to sell an item in STD this league?

then just search by instant buyout only? what's the problem?

I notice you didn't answer the question, which kinda tells us everything we need to know.

But yes, the problem here is a lot of folk that want to remain in league but have this delusion that they'll be able to sell items without paying points to get merchant tabs.

So yes, this winds up with the market in STD clogged with people that don't wanna get merchant tabs and still show up, while in truth they have no intention of ever actually relogging. On its own it's indistinguishable from price manipulation.

if you dont want to relog you can just show as offline (ggg could make this default, and it was default for new accounts). they removed the option to show as online for those that wanted... you clearly didnt read the thread.
edit: if you dont want to be whispered in standard you could achieve that before... if you are offline people couldnt get the whisper - even pre 3.27

As someone that's skipped playing league entirely since Settlers... (notice I'm the only replying player without a league challenge icon!) I can attest that the vast majority of anyone "online" for STD was... Someone with zero intention of relogging; I lost track of the number of players I'd messaged for a 200-400d piece of gear in STD and they just flat-out didn't respond; too busy running a level 70 alt through yellow maps.

So yeah, this exists. Maybe if the people in this thread weren't all clearly in the camp of "I don't wanna play STD, but cling to the idealized notion that I'll get free divines (that I'll never actually spend) without having to buy merchant tabs."

You either wanna play STD, or you don't.

Then you search by "instant buyout only". That turns the market into exactly what it is going to be going forward but still allows the option for people to list for mirror services or without the merchant tab.

unfortunately merchant tabs won't solve the issue of people that want others to mirror their items... I have pretty low fees on my stuff compared to the bigger shops but I can't play league if I want my stuff to be online now...
pre-mirroring and then selling for divines is not an option if anyone thinks that.

I mean merchant tabs solve the issue of people not wanting to swap leagues to standard to sell. The people on standard can just set their filter to "show buyout only" and the issue that GGG is implementing this "change" to fix is completely solved -- without the need to brick mirror services and league listers.

So pretty much merchant tabs just fixed the issue GGG is saying removing the multi-league online system is supposed to fix. Thus, removing that option is now just a middle finger to small-tier mirror shops/players. The whole thing just seems like a backwards-ass cash grab to get more people to buy merchant tabs.

Can we please change this, I sell items in both leagues and always swap over when I get messaged, this is highly inconvenient. Thank you.

Feedback was overwhelmingly that people would opt-in using the option but then not be willing to swap leagues.

who exactly gave that feedback? I spoke to about 20+ standard players by now... no one knew this was changed and everyone hates it. Please revert this change or give us options to opt in being visible in both leagues it hurts my soul you are abandoning standard once again.

This! GGG gotta revert it like for real. Always thinking just for the community of Temp-League players only.. such a pain man literally <_<. Btw when the revert should happen, please don't forget to finally fix that 24k bugged fire resistance armour as well. Thanks!
I kinda agree with the general consensus in the thread. Showing as online in all leagues was an extremely useful toggle, and setting it as off by default would solve the issues.

I still have some mirror items listed and less sure pricing that i would not want to move into a merchant tab, so showing as online in both leagues is how I would want it.
That change is kinda odd to me - anyone with Mirror shop items in Standard can't be online both there and in league, so Standard players need to perform extra steps to ping the owner when it was just a simple option before.

Async can handle all of the actual sales, but anything else becomes hidden.

Please return the functionality, and make it so people have to opt-in to being showing as online in standard if they have items like this.
