Fortress pulse-explosion

You don't need to play a hardcore build. You just need to play a build that isn't bad

My build can literally do 6/7 ubers, all content I want,40/40 every league etc. etc.
Doubt.

Glass cannons are perfectly viable in this game
Except for when they're not, right?

they just put a random mechanic that completely disables the 1 advantage my build has in hive fortress.
Then, by your own definition, your build is not viable for everything in this game. Clearly.

Brother you're literally buying carries and trivial progression checks such as Void Stones. You openly admitted it yourself. You don't even know how to make your own build. Anything you claim or state about balance has no credibility.

You have no horse in this race.

I enjoy pressing 1 button to win and trivializing all boss mechanics, that's whats fun to me.
That's nice and all but your build doesn't even give you that. Back to the drawing board. :)
I, for one, don't like pressing too many buttons. That doesn't make me unskilled, lazy, complacent or whatever other descriptor you are trying to pluck from your vocabulary. - Unknown philosopher, ca. 2025

I made my post to end the discussion surrounding map mods affecting the pulse or not.

Naturally I'm going to use a build to test this where I can focus on the data rather than surviving. Does that make sense to you? Can you comprehend this very basic approach?

@Toffy: They aren't and your repeated posts about one-shots is proof. If you had said "I can farm currency to pay someone else to complete my 40/40 for me" you would have been accurate. If you have to buy carry services you are not trivializing anything with your build choice.

The only carries I buy are t17s because I dislike those maps, and uber bosses cus I'm just too lazy to buy the expensive fragments myself. I can do both of those things if I felt like it, its just faster and easier to save up a few divines and get those out of the way quick. I literally can kill uber exarch without ball phase lmao

And voidstone carries because it is literally faster than trying to farm uber elder and maven invitations myself. Everyone on SC knows that buying your voidstones is the play if you want quick map progression.

Sounds to me like you should also be buying collapsing fortress carries.

I only ever died in one once because of the random oneshot due to map mods. All others I ever found in my hundreds of T16 Mesa maps I did flawlessly.
Alright everyone, it's the season finale. We'd of course like to recap returning watchers and new folks who just stumbled over this gem of a thread so everyone can equally enjoy the showdown.

Initially, the thread posed a simple question: "what damage type is it? I got 1-shot! this mechanic needs to be explained and/or nerfed."

The OP posted a clarifying video showcasing his character link

His character had -26% Chaos Resistance at the time and only 2.5k life. We can also see how one pulse takes half his life pool (about 1.3k damage), and another pulse kills him from full life.

From this we can already deduce that indeed, map mods do affect the Pulse, and as OP was running a T16.5 with +60% Crit Multi as well as 113% Physical as Extra Chaos Damage, it is entirely unsurprising that he died to the Fortress.

The rest of the thread is about Toforto's build which, if you haven't heard yet, is perfect. He claims to only have died once to the mechanic, which is coincidentally why he has posted about 10 pages.

Now that everyone is up to date on the thread, we can continue repeated arguments about how Glasscannon builds shouldn't die to league mechanics. Thank you for your attention to this important matter!

What happened to enjoying trivializing bosses?

You like bosses, but "cant be bothered" with ubers. I have literally never met someone this high on copium. A true POE wook.

These examples don't actually prove anything. You cant just make statements about your gameplay and call it "evidence"
Yes I can. You have to assume Im outright lying to discard it. Apparently you do thus assume Im outright lying? Please be clear about this.

Lying, no. Incompetent, yes.

Because the build at hand is already challenged with 4 mod T16 maps, the natural result is that we don’t get to trivialize boss fights. Laziness or not wanting to bother with something isn’t the issue here, because we’re simply reliant on a carry. Even 10kk Uber DPS, being generous here, paired with zero EHP won’t cut it to trivialize Uber fights.
