Fortress pulse-explosion
" I was using #1 in this post: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3876025/page/13#p26499706 I dont see sufficient margin for "incompetence". How do you suggest I can be so "incompetent" to see 'Wither' or 'Hinder' being applied when its not? If there is a proper cause in my posts suggesting such "incompetence" please do post it. No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

" I have literally recorded videos of myself killing uber bosses on this build in multiple leagues lol I don't gotta prove anything to anyone. I can do anything I want on this build at any time, just dont feel like it cus I'm lazy. Anyway back on topic, mechanics like this should never be affected by map mods because it makes 0 sense. Random oneshots arent fun in any game. Especially a temporary league mechanic shouldn't be so overtuned as to oneshot the player. |

" Put simply, you can’t prove anything. " No, you cannot. That is why you rely on carries. This is not laziness. It is simply the natural limitation of a build that cannot handle most of the endgame on its own. Can you do Ubers? No. Can you do T17? No. Can you do Simulacrum? No. Can you do the Voidstone fights? No. Effectively, your build is already struggling with basic T16 Fortress maps because it cannot withstand even the moderate damage output of the Hive waves. I’m not sure who you’re trying to convince here. That is also why you quit one week into a new league, frustrated with your own gaming experience, which you have chosen to sabotage through your own decisions. " One-shots are simply the result of your character being too weak for the content you are attempting. With zero effective health, this is hardly surprising, as the game expects you to have some survivability at this stage. Like everything else in the endgame, this mechanic scales with difficulty and map modifiers, which is entirely reasonable. If you cannot handle it, simply do not run it. " Don't gotta prove anything. I know I can do anything. This mechanic is just unintentionally interacting with map mods. Its a simple oversight/overtuned numbers, nothing more nothing less than that. And its already been proven that it is affected by seemingly random map modifiers. Again, random oneshots out of nowhere are not fun, in any game ever. I don't like the feeling of being oneshot suddenly, and losing the hive feels super bad too cus you used to lose all the loot in there in the start of the league before they fixed that. Now at the very least you get your loot, without graftblood or wombgifts which sucks but oh well. And lets not forget about -10% exp which is still in the game in 2026, but there's already enough topics about how bad that is. This game is just far too punishing for being so full of random unexpected oneshots, it aint fair nor is it fun at all. |

" Oh yeah, I can do everything too. I just drank a Red Bull, now I have wings and can fly across the Atlas. Not gonna prove it though. I know I can do it. " Source that it is overtuned and not working as intended? If something was actually wrong in the code, GGG would have hotfixed it weeks ago. Yet here we are. Nobody struggles with the minor damage output, except for the builds that fold to everything because they have no defensive layers at all. This is not some groundbreaking discovery. It is simply the game doing what it does best, filtering out bad builds. Hobby Gamer and Professional Software Engineer & Systems Architect from Tennessee

" No, it is simply the natural outcome of any game with a progressive difficulty system. As the content becomes higher and more complex, it inevitably grows more challenging rather than easier. That is exactly why the map tier system and the mod system exist to create a sense of progression and growth. Lol Hobby Gamer and Professional Software Engineer & Systems Architect from Tennessee

" Why do you think a bad build should be able to run the hardest content without struggling? I understand you personally don't believe in self-improvement, but surely you can see how your personal choices should not interfere with other people, no? Because self-improvement is a good thing. The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

" Because I think the idea of a game "checking" you or gating content and not allowing you to experience it just because you don't follow the meta is pretty boring. Its just the game being elitist towards me for no reason at all. I can decide for myself what content I want to run or not, I don't need the game deciding that for me. I ignore T17s every league and sell all of them by undercutting every time, because I simply don't like that content. In that scenario, I didn't need the game to tell me that I shouldn't be doing them. So I really don't see the point of a game "build checking" you on any occasion, it teaches me absolutely nothing and only makes me wanna quit. And it doesn't even have to be the hardest content, just the main 90% minus valdo maps and uber bosses and t17s. We're talking about a pulse damage from a main league mechanic here, not some uber-endgame content. A temporary league at that, shouldn't be this randomly oneshotty. If most builds can't do a league mechanic, that league's popularity will just be worse overall. Putting unavoidable damage in it like this is a really bad move. |

" so you think ANY competent, well balanced build, is "meta" and therefore bad? Honestly man....some of the things you come up with makes me wonder if you have EVER played a game before. The ENTIRE PREMISE of the whole rpg genre, and arpg genre....is that your DECISIONS have consequences. There is no greater decision-making you make in a game like this one than crafting your build the way you choose to craft it. It is literally WHY PoE was created with the unique classless passive system and classless skill system. Yet you say that consequences are bad design, and that ALL decisions should have equal payout. What a laugh. I don't know of any game in existence that doesn't "check" or gate you based on your decisions, skills, or other aspects central to the gameplay of the game you are playing. Not a single one. So.....why do you play games at all if you find ALL of them boring? Starting anew....with PoE 2 Last edited by cowmoo275#3095 on Jan 13, 2026, 9:06:42 PM
