I also cannot find any evidence that e.g. % monster damage or physical as extra affects these. The pulse explosion deals some base physical damage so we'd notice a significant increase in damage from e.g. 200% phys as extra.
If you get shocked, marked for death, or have lower resistances / damage reduction, then of course you take more damage. That's how this game works. The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

" How did you test this though? Seems very difficult, as it seems like there is always monsters present. I clear my fortress pretty well before doing the encounter and at the end of the event there is always still plenty of monsters in the hallways again that would be responsible for any ignite/shocks. “Freedom is what we do with what is done to us.”

" Yep exactly. Its why I died in a random 8-mod rippy t16 map but it barely does half my hp in alch&go maps. Its 100% affected by certain map mods. And that just sucks. |

" No, the content is overtuned and should not be affected by map mods. My build is absolutely min-maxed out and has all perfect bis gear. I only ever got oneshot by this 1 time, and that's enough reason to want it nerfed. Last edited by Toforto#2372 on Dec 19, 2025, 5:17:46 PM

" Let me do the math for you. Your build has almost no defenses. Some map mods reduce your defenses. 1 defense - 3 defense = bad build goes dead.
