No. Being able to "break" the game is the most interesting part about it. Let's be completely clear here: although PoE2 and PoE1 are fine and interesting gameplay-wise for quite some time, the most interesting part about these games is the build-making. Capping anything will make the game much more bland and uninteresting, will leave even less freedom for us to test new and, possibly, game-breaking ideas, etc.

Let it be the freaking Wild West of ARPGs, like PoE1. That's FUN and I love it. I love spending time in PoB, that's the essential part of the game for me.

Just let GGG do their work. They will balance everything eventually. Of course, there always will be really strong, even broken builds, but why not? That's the beauty of ARPGs.

And for the people who concerned about the economy: sure, your take is valid, but it works a bit different. Fast builds generate shit ton of rares for the slower ones. Rare item prices always decrease eventually. Right now you can buy amazing items pretty much for free. Now, if your build is slow, has bad clear, has bad single target, then it is just a bad build. Simple as that. But if you sacrifice your speed for something else, for instance, defenses - just wait for GGG to add some content for you.

There shouldn't be caps but there should be diminishing returns after certain point imo. So you can stack as much as you like (dps, defense, resistance) but you'll practicaly never get over certain values.
