Gameplay focused on spamming one single skill?

"Situational Skill" is the key. Obviously i can add.

Templar lighting damage focused.

Opening Move -> Shield Charge
Normal mob & Champion -> Lighting Strike
Elite & Boss -> Glacial Hammer

deBuff -> Elemental Weakness (cast depends on the resistance of the targets)
Buff -> Tempest Shield (cast 1 time per map)

PoE definitely isn't a single skill game in my experience.
I am also against immunities. Just looking at D3 makes me roll my eyes.

I wouldn't mind seeing monsters that are extremely resistant to magic though (and maybe have very low life), forcing magic-based characters to auto-attack them.

I thinks the skills in POE are doing okay. You can make builds that utilize one major attack skill, or 2-4. And they all seem to perform fairly well. Though for instance, the build of the week, this week, featured a very centralized character, with just fireball as the major skill, all the other skills supporting that one.

Every character I've made has used AT LEAST 2 skills. The main reason for this is that most skills are either good for single targets or good for crowds. So depending on the number of enemies, the skill I use will vary.

For instance, on my Duelist I use Dual Strike for single targets and bosses, and Cleave for multiple targets. I also use 2 auras and a curse.

That's 5 skills used on a regular basis.
Building a firestorm totem witch.
Using firestorm as main AOE while leveling to 31 for totem.
Freezing pulse is my single target
Power Siphon as a finishing blow to get the power charge
I also use
Tempest Shield
Critical Weakness
Zombie
Decoy totem

After I clear a mob, I like to put a decoy totem on the edge of the screen and rain firestorm on it to weaken the next mob a bit.

After I get to lvl 31 I will set up firestorm totems and spam frost wall.

Power Siphon and Freezing Pulse for everyone that sneaks by.

Hey guys, first off, i ve not played PoE yet, hence i cant really tell if its true..

but from those thousands of vids i ve seen now

to me it seems that the gameplay of this game is focused around spamming just one single prefered skill...

i dont know how this type of gamestyle will work out, since i ve not experienced it yet, but i could imagine it may get boring after time..

in D2 people usually used around 2+ skills

and in d3 (which btw sucks imo) players at least had practically 1 primara + secondary + some other skills, based on setup and preferrence making it in average 3+ different skills
theoretically player also could ve used 4 primary + 2 sec skills making it 6 different variations of attackstyle

what are your thoughts about this and do you think that this "issue" needs to be adressed?
1offencive skill and 1 - 2 curses most of the time
