How come people don't hate Steam?
" you've been watching a lot of fake youtube videos and the beauty of online is any exploits that do show up can be fixed and patched and you do NOT have to online to play Steam games as I already stated, I can unplug the internet and still play Torchlight |

" I don't watch fake youtube videos, I base my statements off exploits that I have used, but you can believe what you want. Just keep buying stuff from the RMAH please. Last edited by thepmrc#0256 on Jul 11, 2012, 4:49:46 PM

" haha. I have nothing to prove to you kids. The only dupe i knew has been patched, but Im sure more will pop up. If you want to exploit learn to write code and don't be afraid to get banned. If you think their online only requirement was to actually stop cheaters... well I laugh at you. " Did you even know that they tied the AH timers to your system Clock? This did more than just allow players to turn back the time on their computer to cancel auctions. There was some farce about it too that I read on a few forums, but there was also more exploits than the general public found out about. Considering the dev team was sooo bad that the AH was tied to system clock in the final release I am actually surprised that one would even question the ease of which the game has been exploited. I agree with you that the always online DRM does little to stop cheating if only slowing them down but to call you agitators "kids" is the pot calling the kettle black when you openly admit you use cheats and exploits i agree with what you say and i dont like deablo 3 but if theres anything i hate more than that pile of shite is a cheater you sir are a douche bag and a disgrace to all gamers.
P.S I LOVE STEAM XD Last edited by Malice300#1984 on Jul 11, 2012, 5:53:46 PM

" Haha. Glad I could piss you off. Next time when a game company decides to put a REAL MONEY AUCTION HOUSE in a game... maybe they should IDK, try to prevent cheating.... lol. Not my fault they gave me too much incentive to cheat. I would have much preferred a D3 without cheats, just as I would have preffered that D3 actually be a good game. However when it is easy/free money and there is no actual enjoyment in the game... what else am I to do? Make my 60 bucks back by abusing the hell out of the broken ass game while people are still willing to waste cash on it. If it becomes apparent that I can easily make 10-100x my initial 60$ investment very easily... I think Ill continue to exploit it until the game is completely dead. Which will probably only be a few more months. Last edited by thepmrc#0256 on Jul 11, 2012, 6:22:30 PM

You can actually play offline on steam, its just that it has to update its offline client thingy from time to time. Which means if you havent gone in offline mode for some time, and you get a internet blackout or something and you want to play via offline mode it will try to get these "updates" (I dont know what kind of updates it is, but it is something it needs). But as you dont have internet you cant get them and therefore not able to play offline.
However, its very easy to bypass this by just plugging in your phone for a second and use its internet to just get to offline mode. Its a bit redundant, but it works. Above content may contain traces of nonsense.
Reality is simply an unrealistic version of online gaming. |
