GGG ruins the league with Tailwind being too OP and untested.
Because of that 80% of playerbase will be deadeye. Why do Tailwind gives 150% evasion and 30% less damage. Thats like they want ppl to only play 1 class, 1 ascendancy I hope i find some non-deadeyes in the league like me. Last edited by zsirfoka#3193 on Aug 29, 2025, 3:28:09 PM

" First of all, life doesn't block resistances. Resistances are suffixes and life is a prefix. Second, some items offers nothing except life as prefix. - Helmets have only life and rarity - Boots have only life and movement speed - A rare belt literally offers only life as prefix - Body armour life and spirit So half of the items already have really only life to offer in their prefix pool and people which were like "eeeeh armour has no effect" and "eeeeeh evasion is noob trap", still prefered to sit on the worst stats you can get from these items rather than life.... Rings can have added damage from which we never need all three and inc damage which is just wild to think that this would really required to deal with any content in the game. Especially if you need to sacrifice life for it. Amulet offer rarity, spell damage and life in numeric and % value. So only spell casters struggle here if they want the spell damage to be there. If you even get a bloodstone amulet you get like 200 numeric life out of this + 8% inc max life. Again the 8% are calced at the end on top of all your life. I would prolly start with ar/ev gear and when I reach maps I rather go for full evasion rating, since evasion paired with a good life/ES pool is just broken. After the patch even more. And it is mostly not even hard to get to 2k life or more by just getting T3 life on most items. Assuming you are level 65, you have a base life of 836 without any investment on str or life. Means 11 Strength (Base). We get in the campaign also 5% inc max life, which you add at the end of the max life calc. T1: - up to 263 life from Body Armour - up to 150 life from Helmet - up to 174 life from Amulet + (#% inc max life) - up to 120 life from Rings without catalysts x2 - up to 149 life from Boots - up to 149 life from Gloves ---------------------------------------- TOTAL 1125 Life * 1,08 (8% inc) = 1215 life. T3: - around 175 - 189 from Body Armour (+ hybrid easily over 200) - around 100 - 119 from Helmet - around 100 - 119 from Belt - around 85 - 99 from Amulet - around 73 - 83 from Rings x2 - around 85 - 95 from Boots - around 85 - 99 from Gloves ---------------------------------------- TOTAL (Avg) 1030 life These stats are without any strength and without the base life of 836, I listed before the table. So if you start mapping and add T3 life on each gear, besides your crossbow, you are already over 2k. 1 Strength is 2 max life, so having 100 str are 200 max life, having 150 str results in 300 max life. Assuming you go with T3 on each gear, which is reasonable except you using uniques, which are not required mostly and you having at least 100 str you are at 2080 life. You still can go full Evasion in this scenario, since you anyway have around 100 str cause of crossbow. The highest requirement of stat for you in terms of the best gear possible, from rare items, either a evasion body armour, which requires max 170 dex or going for the highest crossbow base it is 117 dex/str. My characters, around level 90 mostly end up with around 400 - 500 attributes, except stat stackers, which contributed to the requirements and then getting mostly str, if I am using life and not ES. So calced with rather the lower end of attributes 400 - 170 are 230 - 70 for intelligence (if any skills require it) = 160 str. which results into 320 max life + gear. So based on T3 mods + attributes + base life, you are getting to 1030 + 320 + 880 = 2230 life Lets say we go with T1 life, 500 attributes and a base level of 90. Base level 90 makes our character have 1127 life Gear + 1125 life - 2252 already (500 attributes: 170 dex, 130 int, 200 str) Strength + 400 life - 2652 2712 * 5% inc life from the campaign = 2847 life. OR with Amulet % life 2712 * 13% inc life from the campaign = 3064 life. so you can reach the required life, but for endgame, the rule was always ES/EV. Since ES is just far to easy stackable or scaleable compared to life. But that is only if you are 90 + and trying to get your character to a level above any requirements for the game or to stay safe even on the hardest imagineable content, like Deliriums Simulacrums, which is just not a content made for every class. Simulacrum was in PoE 1 the hardest content possible for a long time and not any class or character was supposed to deal with it. This said, it will be harder to sustain ES after patch and since it gets harder to sustain I would rather check how easy/harsh it will be to transform into it before trying to go with that. Before we easily could sustain it with Eternal youth and using flasks, which was a no brainer. But since they changed that and we have no real sustain anymore without investment it might be better to just go with life. Especially since deflect is just wild... around 50% damage reduction to anything if you get deflect to 100%. What a joke! xD Therefore I don't count for such things. Especially not on a Merc without specifications on which Ascendancy etc. Last edited by Ondrugs#1147 on Aug 29, 2025, 4:03:47 PM
