That's how this announcement reads to me. Deceptive business practices in my humble opinion.
Was never free to play on EA you just don't listen. It will be free on 1.0 launch
they never have been deceptive here they said it many times over back when EA launched

Everyone wants to play the start of a new league as the first week or so is the best time to play. Why would you purposely create even more issues for the first weekend of the league. Which is also going to be a negative for people they apparently think are going to spring for an EA package and MTX etc but were holding out for a free weekend. I mean you might want a stable environment to try and hook someone with.
What are you even saying?
It's like when someone is crying really hard and they are hardly able to breath let alone talk because they are gasping for air. Seems like this is that version of that. Only instead of talking its typing...
