Gutsy move that I absolutely respect.

If this goes anything else but really smooth, the whiners are going to go into highgear and the rest of us will get so much hillarious comments to read and laught at, while you fix the issues.
I almost (but only almost) wish that there will be issues.

However it turns out - you got my respect.

I'm fine with others getting a chance to come in and try the game. They may enjoy it and want to buy into EA. But I also think the season should have started today the 28th. For the ones who have already paid for access. This would show appreciation to the supporters you have already. Also tomorrow the servers will be getting hit harder, issues may come up with the increased amount of players and longer wait times. This could cause alot of negative reviews and feedback if new players can't play the game and even the veterans. You could have also made the free weekend next week which may have been a better idea all together. With the new update causing server issues or something on the backend like before.

The real reason to do this would be so if there were any unforeseen issues that required more down time etc they would have been taken care of. So that the people they are trying to hook with a "free weekend" wouldn't have dealt with that. It's always busy through all the starting areas when a new season starts so they'd see activity.

Personally I had a couple extra keys left and noticed a longtime friend had put POE2 on their steam wish list. So I handed those out last night so that they and their other half could both get in EA.

I mean, besides potential financial advantages, I think stress testing the servers is pretty much the goal of this.

If it's not working well, that's just how it is.
The game is in EA afterall, stuff like this is just naturally part of the experience.

People who whine over this, or even give negative reviews, have completely lost the control of their lives lol.

If you go into your account on POE2 you go to the POE2 early access section and if you have extra keys they will be listed. It will also show if they have been used or not. These keys are redeemed on the POE2 website for EA. You get the Steam/Epic keys from that same POE2 Early Access menu.

So when I gave mine to friends. They had to create accounts and redeem the key if you hover over the shop menu the drop down has a redeem key option. That unlocks the EA for them. Then they go into their account/POE2 Early access section to get the steam/epic key to unlock the client. Or they just use the stand alone. To be clear the EA keys can't be directly redeemed on Steam or Epic.

If where it shows the Key under it says: Used: False

Then yes.

If it says Used: True.

Then it's already been redeemed.
Big mistake making the free weekend on launch day.

If you want to lure new players in, letting them experience all the hiccups of launch weekend really isn't the way to go IMHO.
