Insane amount of bots farming low level area's, please do something.

I'm just thankful this isn't like Diablo 2 in one way.

Bots won't randomly join my party and spam advertisements and then leave.

That shit PLAGUED pub games in diablo 2.

I can avoid shit like that so I am honestly very happy.
GGG gives me Diablo 2 Teleport? I give them 50 bucks. No questions asked.

That's a horrible way to catch bots. You need a way to recognize a pattern in their behavior.

A lead designer of one of the popular botting sites said that his site won't offer a PoE bot, because "there isn't really a big enough market in PoE for botting, because multiboxing is legal and much more efficient". Why would anyone report someone for using a bot when you legalize more efficient third party program usage? No one is manually alt tabbing 6 chars to keep them within 13 yards of each other constantly while farming. As it is now, if you allow 1 third party program, you might as well let the bots and maphacks run wild too. Even better, you should just sell bots in your shop, so that ISboxer and D Buddy aren't raking in the cash, because you won't admit that you don't have the manpower to stop the cheating, so you just say "screw it. it's legal". Cleanup your game completely and maybe we will feel like you give a shit.
nGio, they have never said botting is legal ever. They allow multiboxing which requires NO THIRD PARTY TOOLS. There is a video of a 6 man piety kill by a MBer that was alt-tabbing to control his characters. They allow multiboxing, not botting and there is a world of difference between the two.

EDIT - by botting I actually mean any automation or key replication. That is what they don't allow. Just running multiple clients on one machine is allowed as it should be.

I saw the video, and that guy has admitted to using ISboxer, though he made a video of doing it legit for a single run. There was some guy here in Gen Disc that posted videos of himself multiboxing with ISboxer. He posted here for a week straight, bragging about using it. No one gave a shit. People that are hard grinding aren't manually tabbing, though you can see a video of them doing it once. Even for the 1 guy doing it legit, how do you then stop the 10 guys that are cheating?

Either they have to crack down on EVERYTHING and make this a single controlled char arpg as it was intended, or just let everyone run as many clients and programs as they want. In a perfect world, they would know what everyone is doing at all times, but GGG is too small of a company to have hundreds of people working around the clock to look into every single account to see who is doing what. In this very post there is a dev asking the public to report everyone who might be cheating. This isn't the LoL Tribunal, and if they don't give a shit then I don't either. I'll be back when the game is cleaned up and my 4 endgame chars have something to do besides run low lvl maps for assy loot and never see experience.

I would say they definately need some sort of Warden type program to put a dent in this(using third party tools). The problem lies completely in the punishment though. Since this is F2P, there is absolutely no penalty for getting caught botting or cheating in any other manner. Banning the account...whippee, just create another and be back up to speed in no time. I agree that any automation should have some penalty associated with it, unfortunately, GGG has none to give.
If people want to multi-box and degrade the experience they get from the game (not in-game character experience, the enjoyment), let them waste a significant portion of their life to do so.
This issue isn't muliboxing, its the automation and key forwarding that most people have an issue with. Most call it Multiboxing, but its not. I agree, let people play as many instance at a time as they want, just don't let them automate any part of it. Ever see an online poker player playing a shitload of games at once, same concept. Let them do it manually, but for the cheaters, GGG really needs to come up with a punishment as anything they can do now, is not a punishment, rather an inconvenience.

Again, they don't have the manpower. This isn't Blizzard, and GGG doesn't have unlimited resources to just throw at shit. You can't have your cake and it eat it too. Either they have to stop multiboxing or let the third party programs run wild. This isn't poker, it's an arpg. You are supposed to be a single exile, experiencing the game as a single-controlled player. If you want your own party to control then grab a ps3 and go play one of the new shitty Final Fantasy games. This isn't poker, and it isn't a Final Fantasy party micro.
nGio, I think you took what I said the wrong way. I wasn't stating that they should encourage multiboxing, rather they should just not disallow it. I frankly have enough fun running around with a single character, but if someone wants to alt-tab themselves to death so be it. My point was directed towards the separation of Multiboxing and Botting/Key Forwarding. Seems from the thousands of threads that many assume one means the other, and they do not. You can bot with a single instance, you can manually run multiple instances. I was just trying to point out that because, as you say, of their limited man power, they need to have a way to tell the difference, IE, a warden or the like and a proper punishment when the culprits are found.
