Your MOST DISAPPOINTED 3 games of all time
Final Fantasy XIII-it took 20 hours before the game gave me a real wide open area to explore.
Deus Ex:Human Revolution- The fact that stealth is always the most rewarding path removed what made the original so fun, the ability to choose how you wanted to approach a mission and still be rewarded. GTA4-The jump to realism only removed most of the things i found fun in the previous titles | |
Of ALL time would take too much thought since I have been a gamer since the heady days of the Amiga, so I will confine my choices to PC games.
Neverwinter Nights II: Contrary to the thoughts of others, I loved NWN 1 because the community made this game a real D&D gem. Load in some mods and this game really does shine albeit with a few flaws. But... NWN II? What WERE your thinking Obsidian? The voice acting was awful for one. Being a fantasy purist, it was JARRING to hear a deep south US accent with some of the characters. The game lacked the fluidity of the first and at least to my artistic eyes, the graphics took a quantum leap backwards. Silverfall: Perhaps the most ridiculous revive system in ARPG history on PC. You get annihilated QUICKLY and to recover your gear you have to traverse the same area where you got mobbed but practically naked. I do not mind a challenge and I do not mind dying. In fact I am ordering Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition. But, most games give you a CHANCE at some semblance of tactics. With Silverfall, the word "tactics"wasn't even in the developers' lexicon. Dawn of Magic: Okay, D3 is pretty bad, but Dawn of Magic is by FAR the WORST ARPG that I have ever played. The game's sense of homor harms it. It's funny to have a "gypsy" (and these devs should realize that gypsy is an ethnic slur) bashing monsters with a broom, biut it is nor funny when you are overpowered 5 minutes into the first quest. 1) Guild Wars 2 : Currently in final beta......With no intention of changing from what it has now become in the beta, it is a major move/dissapointment and betrayl of Guild Wars 1 players....(I played GW1 since beta 6-7 years ago, and logged 4000+ hours lol)
Reasons : Game mechanics completely different from GW1, they just stole from WoW and improved them.....Now entire game feels like WoW 2.0!. Game looks like WoW 2.0, As GW was a huge graphical blow(Good thing) to the industry....GW2....Not so much.... I like my eye candy....And GW2, is bearly any better than the rest(In some cases worse) 2) Diablo 2 : Luckly, one day I was sitting around when a beta invite popped up in my email for diablo 3....I then proceded to gloat everywhere and druel in fanboydom........ Finaly installed game(Now absolutely stoked with myself)..............10 minutes into the game was bored, felt weak(Was promised epicness), graphics were average and the game was to easy..........pushed myself to play for next three days.....third day I quit. So luky me I didnt pay anything(And boy did I warn alot of people about how shiz it was) Only managed to save a few people the bill =D 3) Counter Strike Source(New version) : As a young teen I was a pro at CS:1.6(And earlier) LAN's and online where I played at the local internet cafe.....I decided to buy the game again maybee 6 months ago......And the maps stayed the same, the graphics improved alittle.....But now the controls felt so sluggish/different that it was no longer that game i had come to be pro at. Needless to say....I was very sad :( www.tachi203.com : For live streams, gameplay, news of me +(. Age of Conan - Preordered, built a new computer for it, so many bugs on release that the 1 mil + players all quit after the free month and the game died. Wasn't nearly as fun as it was supposed to be.
Battlefield 3 - Was crap, expected the sequel to Battlefield 2. I still play Battlefield 2 (Project Reality mod) Diablo 3 - Lol. Last product I'm going to buy from Blizzard, except for their RTS games. I'm sure in the future they'll somehow manage to ruin those too. All I can say is thank god for Path of Exile, D3 was probably the most disappointed I have ever been about any game ever, and the aRPG genre isn't exactly overflowing with great titles. Between PoE and LotRO and a few other games I am a happy gamer. Last edited by Patrick92#7601 on Jul 19, 2012, 10:20:16 AM

" Don't laugh at me... I liked Spore. ;-) I play one of the variants on the Wii. Looks like someone missed their weekly meeting of Douchebag's Anonymous. Last edited by The_Paw#2778 on Jul 19, 2012, 2:42:53 PM

Umm, that's a tough one for me because I am (at best) a casual gamer. I've played a bunch of silly games, especially for the Wii and PS2. After thinking about it for a moment, I can really only come up with 2.
1) Torchlight. It was fun for a few hours but that was about it. It was seriously repetitive and has zero replay value. 2) Diablo III Beta. I played a few hours during the stress-test weekend and boy, oh boy, was it bad. Yup, it looked good, but that was about it. It should be called Worlds of Diablocraft. 3) Still trying to come up with something, but no. Pretty pathetic, eh? Looks like someone missed their weekly meeting of Douchebag's Anonymous.

Hmmm excluding the OBVIOUS
Spore was pretty gay Black & White was terribad Skulljagger for the NES was so bad that after I rented it I stood around at the video store for 3 hours demanding a refund. When I heard about cutthroat league I had a vision of a place, and in that place I saw a man, and in that man I saw my sword, and in my inventory I saw his loot

" Oh good one... unfortunately. I was a huge fan of GW1 as well, though I didn't put in as many hours (didn't count :p) I finished the story lines and all expansions. Coop was so much fun. I did not play the beta, but haven't seen anything in the videos that made me really want to play it. I did notice also the environments sometimes are very low poly, though the characters look good. Personally I'm also not a big fan of the super cute / always super pretty characters... it's bordering on Korean MMO style.. it was just about perfect in between the super nice Korean MMO style characters and the "classic" Western feel in GW1.. in GW2 it lost something. |
