In recent times:

L4D2 - Better gfx but lost its magic

COD: Black Ops - Horrible engine/lag & dev team

D3 - Has potentioal but dev team are mental

Pre-purchased all 3...never again

First of all, a bit of reality... Blizzard only cares about raids and end game content. Don't believe me? Look at the major patch releases for World of Warcraft. They rarely (if ever) attend to the needs of people mid or beginning level. And what else could you expect from Call of Duty? The same kind of people that play FPS like CoD and Halo are the same kind of people who play the Madden games, games that barely (if ever) change. The reason the games suck, is because people are so satisfied with it, that enough of you who buy the game never put up enough fuss.

Read few posts mentioning Suikoden, my all time favorite, and I have to agree that few sequels after PS1 were a disappointment, especially IV, just wowerz how they managed to ruin, still decent game but compared to first 2 or even 3, really bad.

Won't strain my memory too much by saying that recently I tried the Neverwinter nights, and didn't fancy it as much as I thought I would. Could give it another try.

Not to mention anything after CS 1.6, mere attempt of creating the perfection of FPS that 1.6 is. The most balanced game ever made and still played, over a decade.

Same goes for anything after CoD 1 and 2, last ones I decided to play in some fashion.

Doom 3

Got tired of thinking. I think it's fair to say these games were much worse than the previous.

Heroes VI

Spore was so disappointing.... So was Marvel vs Capcom 3. Really almost every sequel/continuation of a game serious to come out in the last five years has been absolute crap.
