Your MOST DISAPPOINTED 3 games of all time

.but if I were Vanilla World of Warcraft, I'd be pretty disappointed with what happened to me. I was a nice, rich environment, ripe for great GM events, roleplaying, a solid interaction with the 'world of warcraft', and...now I have a class inspired by Jack Black...yes, rather disappointed.

It took my a second, then I was laughing the better part of the afternoon.Well said as usual Sir.
Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb.

Dota 2 - Just a reskinning of Dota for wc3 with a messy UI and worse graphics IMO

Diablo 3 - Great game for about the first 60 hours of beating inferno etc but beyond that it has nothing except farming for potential income

Need for Speed pro street 2 - holy crap that game was so effin bad for ps2

1) The sequel to final fantasy tactics. The rage that people describe about what happened to the Diablo franchise, which I honestly don't see (IMO, D3 was mostly a really great game, just had some flaws that killed the replayability), that's how I feel in a way about what happened to Final Fantasy Tactics with the sequel Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Did it make some improvements? Yes. I'm not a completely irrational fanboy. But god damn, they seriously, seriously gutted out some of the best elements.

2)Mass Effect 3. I really had a lot of fun with it, up until the ending. I don't know... I just, once I played through the ending, I lost the urge to replay the game. I tried, I honestly tried. I made a new file, I played through the Mars mission, but the ending just completely killed my interest. I played through Mass Effect 2 14 times (over 400 hours of play time). The multiplayer was a lot of fun and I probably have several hundred hours in it, but once I leveled up my favorite weapons, I didn't really have interest in continuing to grind out the most elite weapons. More fun than grinding goblins, but not that much more. I envisioned myself playing it to this day, but the long grind plus the release of Diablo 3 pulled me away. Got onto the game a couple days ago and tried playing some, but the only people on my friend's list left who play only want to grind FBWG, nobody wants to do the new mode or maps.

3)Path of Exile. This game has so many great ideas, it is disappointing that they're trapped ten years in the past. The orbs, the different class designs, the map system, embracing PvP servers. Just that the game systems are so f'ing outdated. I've tried, really really tried to like this game in its state but it just isn't happening for me. The game needs to go back to the future. The best thing that could happen would be that blizzard buys out GGG and incorporates their innovation ideas into D3's game engine.

Ok, maybe PoE isn't my biggest disappointment since I sort of expected the gameplay to feel extremely outdated, but nothing else is really coming to mind.

Halo Reach? Maybe that game. Bloom, OP grenades, lack of competitive maps, but honestly I suck at shooters so I never expected to be able to keep up with the game for long.I thought I would be forced to quit due to being dominated by other players, not because of lack of interest in playing the game.

Spiral Knights? No, I knew eventually I would quit that game too, being nickel and dimed to death by the developers. Actually had a surprising amount of fun with the PvP, but ultimately lost interest due to lack of content releases.

Yeah, nothing really coming to mind, I'll stick with PoE for my third slot.

Really? DoTA 2 is unmodified DoTA? Oh my god. That's amazing. HoN is the closest thing to DoTA on the market right now but even that has deviated from part of what made DoTA so fun. There were so many heroes that I loved in DoTA that were removed in HoN. Were they imbalanced? Yes, but scrapping them entirely just makes me sad. Brood mother, Troll Warlord, Leoric. These guys were a lot of fun, and while elements of them were carried over, it just wasn't the same.

Since we are already talking about our TOP 3 games of all time...

What are the 3 games that disappointed you the most? (I probably should ask for 4, since 1 of them is almost a dead given)

Here are mine:

1. Diablo 3 - Allow me to explain. Oh wait... no need :P

2. Fallout 3 - Why I was surprised, I don't even know. It was just flat out horrible for me. Everything good about Fallout 1 and 2 was gone. How could they turn Fallout into an FPS?! It wasn't even a good FPS!!! Hey, at least it wasn't an auction house simulator...

3. Everything after Classic WoW

Fallout: New Vegas was great though. CANT BELIEVE THEY FUCKING KILLED HARLOD, FUCKING DOUCHEBAG BETHESDA!

Would have been game of the year if it wasn't so buggy.

Guess Bethesda (yes I know Beth didn't develop New Vegas) learned from that one, releasing Skyrim near the end of the year so the bugginess of the game wouldn't factor into its bid for GOTY, since most reviewers were still on the honeymoon period of the game.

And yes, I know the game got patches later, but too little too late. Also the expansions turned you into a walking god. Kind of defeats the point of getting growth perks if you'll eventually be able to max out almost every skill without them.

Yea, although The Big Empty add on was amazing. That one truly caught the feel of a fallout game. The rest were..."meh". I still need to kill Ulysses in my NV game...havent really cared to do it.

Fallout 1 and 2 are still my favorite games of all time though. Apparently Obsidan got fucked out of a bonus because they ended up with a 79 on meta critic due to all the bugs. :\ (They needed an 80)
1 - Mass Effect 3 ending. Someone made a video on UTube of the credits of the game and the song In The End by Linkin Park. Most fitting.
The most underwhelming end I've ever seen in my 28 years.

2 - Neverwinter Nights. My spider-sense started tingling with this game. The suspect that Bioware was going down the drain started there.

3 - Fable. Point & click adventure (1996). The ending was the most underwhelming and stupid I'd ever seen in my 16 years.
Can you imagine an imaginary menagerie manager imagining managing an imaginary menagerie?
I can usually spot a bad game from a mile so I could only come up with two:

1) Diablo III

2) ME3 <-Good the first playthrough. IMO no replay value. Trash Ending because it got rushed.

1. Red Orchestra 2

The original Ostfront game had unique and intelligent pacing. The second dropped this pacing in favor of a more swift one. The result was the pacing of a modern first person shooter game that served only to hinder the game. (In my opinion.)

2. Dragon Age 2

I concede that a narrative driven by human elements (mostly) is an interesting direction, but the game stripped from the second game what I enjoyed from the first.

3. Fallout 3

Okay- I just added this one to rustle the jimmies of anyone who liked Fallout 3.

After playing Oblivion, I knew what to expect in this regard.

In recent memory...

1. Spore
2. D3
3. Rage
"the premier Action RPG for hardcore gamers."
