Have no interest in starting over in new league

This whole discussion feels pointless. Path of Exile is a seasonal game. If you don’t want to play the seasonal league, it’s basically like asking to change the core design of the game.
Used to think PoE 2 was “not just PoE 1 with better graphics.”
But that illusion shattered after the 0.2.1 patch.
It ruined the feel, the loot, the flow, everything.
Make it good again, GGG.
Been a seasonable game for 13 years and people want it changed

lmao

that's some funny stuff it's almost funny as the GET RID OF THE XP penalty hahaha

Poe1 was seasonal game. Doesn't mean Poe2 should follow the sane rules. After all copy paste isn't Jonathan's vision.
PoE 1 - league-centric game.

PoE 2 - league-centric game with a proposed different take on combat flow.

The core pillars of the game are basically cyclical leagues/economy resets/grind your heart out. It's what's worked for them for over a decade, and they're likely not going to change their methods. Suddenly dumping all new content to standard would neuter the fresh leagues via people not interacting with them, while simultaneously eliminating half the grind (the point of the game) because your standard stash is already loaded with the necessary currency/items to just blitz through new characters. (cut off your nose to spider face)..

I truly hate this phrase because it's generally used in a derogatory manner, but in this instance it feel applicable (in the most respectful way possible); "Maybe this game isn't for you". Even in that context it feels rough because it would be counterintuitive to drive people away from a game I want to see succeed..

But, you're asking GGG to essentially rewrite their entire methodology regarding how they build/sustain their live-service model. Let's be honest, GGG has had a bear of a time keeping up with 2 similarly framed titles simultaneously, and shocking the system with a completely new model would probably crater the already hectic dev-support we get. You don't want to play PoE*2* (a sequel), you want to play "insert entirely new game title here" where all of the content is available everywhere, and fresh league economies be damned.. Why even have leagues at all, and make it one continuous run-on game?

This is going to be a hella unpopular take, but I'd be perfectly fine if standard didn't exist and the game straight-up wiped clean every league start. Not out of spite, but because fresh leagues are where this game shines, and it's where the most fun and community engagement is had.

I will try to be as nice as possible, Hear me out!!!!

You're missing the core point. PoE2 is not a separate game, it's an evolution of PoE1. GGG has made it clear: it's a unified client, same economy, same MTX, same seasonal model. Changing the seasonal foundation means redesigning the entire experience from the ground up, which isn't just about "Jonathan's vision" — it's about the identity of the game.

You can dislike the seasonal model, but asking for PoE2 to abandon it is like asking FIFA to stop doing yearly tournaments because “the new version could be different.” Or asking Diablo to become a turn-based RPG because "it shouldn't follow the same rules." That’s not innovation — that’s a completely different game.

poe 1 replay value = massive

poe 2 replay value = nonexistent

simple
"buff grenades"

- Buff Grenades (Buff-Grenades)
Poe1 was a GGG game from the get go, poe2 a tencent game, ones worth alot of G's the other chump change.
Imagine talking about how good poe 1 compare to poe 2, but not even play it, because I see no numbers of challenges cleared

+1 i just want to keep leveling my old characters. Te new league exclusive content and XP lost on death will keep frustrating players that will eventually stop playing. 4K+ players sometimes as active players only should be enough to show the amount of people displeased with this POE1 mechanics. Make POE 2 different and STOP bringing the bad things from POE1 here instead of the good ones.
I find it a bit odd when people comment things like 'Stop bringing the bad things from PoE1 to PoE2' especially when they don’t seem to have any PoE1 challenges completed. It makes me wonder if they’ve actually played the game deeply or are just speculating based on what others say.

I really hope GGG implements challenge indicators in PoE2 (starting maybe with version 0.3) that show on the forum next to usernames—just like in PoE1. It’d be a good way to know if someone has actually played and experienced the game they’re talking about, rather than just making assumptions."
