its mostly the dozens of price fixers you need to weed through that makes things miserable. I do wish it was instant some how where I don't need to leave my map or even find the items in the stash. I love the exchange and feel expanding on that is the answer but there really isn't really a way to fix the root problem

" Offline trading in the form of Faustus has been in PoE for a year. This is proof that offline trading has been received well by players and nobody is complaining. What is your proof that Faustus/offline trading has hurt PoE? |

" Nothing? I don't know what you're talking about here, dear Sir. I said "I want", I never brought forward some strange doomsday theory that the whole game would jump off a cliff and die if they introduced offline trading for items too. I know I'm in the minority here; we all want different things from the game. I still think commodities/currencies are vastly different than equipment when it comes to buy/sell orders, though. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

The seller actively having to accept an offer is the root of the problem though. It offers the possibility to scam( at least the current way it' done), it offers the possibility to price fix. People have to leave their encounter, which is a problem for small trades and leads to people often not answering on top of the price fixers that are already not answering...All in all not good, obsolete system...
Well, i am going to play hc ssf anyway in 2 days, screw ya trade mode... Last edited by Strickl3r#3809 on Jul 30, 2025, 5:50:01 AM

" I'm in disagreement about this, this is the one thing I think they absolutely need to change. Trade in SC is a blight and being able to buy things players have listed without interacting with them whether thats an AH or consignment merchants (DAoCs method for anyone old enough) it immediately fixes an overwhelming majority of trade issues in return for minor power creep due to trade access being higher. Price fixers? Fixed Scammers? Fixed Bulk buy? Fixed from both sides, TFT less worthwhile while its actually still involves some grind which GGG prefer Time wasters? Fixed It also addresses the ever increasing problem of players making everyone else price their shit for them, i'm sorry guys but public dump tabs are a joke and GGG should love the idea of throttling item access down by making players look at their loot rather than streamline it like they are playing factorio but the regular players are the conveyer belts. The only unknown negative is how much genuine price fixing might occur, not the fake type that's combines with scamming like we have now but players would genuinely be able to buy out everything of a type if rich enough. But if the supply is high it won't work anyway and if its low it benefits the players that find it at the expense of players that maybe desire access. Also this largely already occurs hence why i'm labelling this one as unknown, it could be really bad. Or it could be completely irrelevant. For the record I actually agree with GGG's original trade manifesto and think its the best design for a game like this but we are so far away from those conditions now in terms of player expectations and the game design itself that I think they need to ask themselves what they really want/need from trade now and if it fits within the game. |

" In an ideal world players would have access to a limited amount of offers they could make, let's say 25 offers at a time. That seems healthy and would encourage players to price aggresively so stuff will actually sell. Unfortunately their monetarization system collides with that. |

Trading is frustrating, yes.
GGG has stated (see manifesto and multiple interviews) that this is by design. TLDR: You dont want to play in a world where trading is frictionless. All your common drops will be even more worthless, all of your chase items less affordable. As far as player interactions go, yea, people can suck. You can't control them, but you can control how you view the situation. Keep in mind: 1. Not everyone speaks your language/understands things like "ty" or "gl". 2. Some farm strats make responding to chat difficult/detrimental. 3. Many of the lower priced listings are price fixers, ofc they wont respond. 4. Not everyone online is actively playing. People walk away from their PC's. “Freedom is what we do with what is done to us.”
