Unpopular Opinion: League Challenges Should Require Solo Completion
Imo this is the same type of sh__ as little kids on the playground who are mad at other kids on the playground because they're hogging the slide or whatever.

" It’s curious how some believe a public profile is an absolute must for offering valid feedback. If a private profile or the choice to skip a league rattles you so much, it might be worth considering if you’re in the right place to contribute to the conversation. After all, the topic at hand isn’t about anyone’s profile, yet here we are, focusing more on who’s allowed to speak rather than the feedback itself. It seems the idea of challenges being a solo achievement hit a little too close to home, leaving you to search for any excuse to sidestep the actual point. " I think you missed the first part of my point, mainly the most important part. If you have no challenges, why are you worried about challenges let alone complaining about the design/implementation of challenges. So... as someone with no challenges maybe you should take you own advice in "considering if you're in the right place to contribute to the conversation". People who have no first-hand experience in something trying to give their expert dissertation on something; it's irrelevant. ★ Forum Threads ★

" Ah yes, skip a single league and your entire knowledge base is wiped clean, truly a masterpiece of gatekeeping logic, as if firsthand experience comes with an expiration date. Right up there with the “no public profile, no opinion” classic, just another excuse to dismiss feedback for the sake of not having anything to contribute beyond finding reasons to shut down what you don’t like. Let’s not derail this topic any further, shall we? " I'm going to be fair in this argument and say you don't need to be a world-class chef to be a food critic. You don't need to be an A-list director or actor to critique film. You don't need to have developed Baldur's Gate 3 to be a video game critic. Thus, you don't need to play a league to criticize challenge completions being commodified. OP is wrong, but there are better ways to explain why than say "0 challenges, opinion discarded". PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds. Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! Some people with 40/40 block their profile aswell, i wonder why that is ;P As long as people don't call out other people i wouldn't care, but some of the people act so weird the moment they have finished all their vendor recipes and bought all their carries, that it would be nice if their would be some kind of filter, like no voidstone drops if u haven't been solo in your boss instance and some of the boss related challenges could be solo only.
You can always respec after finishing your bosses if you want to play some kind of autombomber build made for handycapped people or whatever... RMT sucks, carries suck. That is just the way it is, lol And don't get me wrong. A fair amount of people, especially the 36/40s have finished them on their own. I just mean the ones with the blocked profile, calling out other people because of challenges, or worse, because of what they can see in someone elses profile, while at the same time hiding their own and refering to their 40/40 challenges completed. If you are so proud of your 40/40 but then you hide your profile, sry bud you got something to hide big time lol and it's usuallly a combination of rmt and carries, while sitting in your hideout and browsing the tft discord. People hiding their profile or using an alternate account for the forums is a non-issue. It's 2025, we still don't have much needed 2FA features and everyone can decide for themselves what they're willing to share.
Valuing privacy, preventing third party scraping and not wanting to share your builds or items with the public (especially during a time where you frequently read about hacked accounts and alt-art theft) are all valid reasons and don't inherently dimnish your opinion or credibility on certain topics. I do however have a problem with people that join discussions or give feedback on topics where it is evident that they have no idea what they're talking about. Ragebait is unfortunately very prevalent on these forums so you have to differentiate where possible. A good example would be someone claiming CI or ES builds being overpowered, vastly overshadowing everything else in the game - asking for nerfs and being generally dismissive towards others having a different opinion. You then go and check their profile only to find out that they don't have a single CI or ES character represent, not for a lack of character slots mind you, so it's not too farfetched they're just regurgitating some streamers opinion or project false facts and assumptions based on something they saw on someone's stream. Bonus points if it was during an event using unbalanced alt-ascendancies on top. I also quite like it when people complain about T17 maps or certain bosses. It's hilarious when you open their profile only to find out that they did a total of one T17 maps this league, none of the bosses - or worst case - never had 4 void stones ever. When the data is publicly available and you're caught red-handed you absolutely deserve being called out for stirring controversy using anecdotal bs-takes or straight up ragebait. You're then often met with retaliation, grasping straw's like rmt or buying carry runs, in an attempt to deflect why you were called out in the first place. Bonus points if you have a hidden profile, it really seems to get under certain individuals skin. This topic is a very good example of this. As for the actual topic I wholeheartedly agree. Challenges should be earned, not bought or leeched. The game in general would be much better if it was balanced for SSF and not trade (Last Epoch did it right!) but that's another topic entirely. Private profiles are usually a sign of not enough chops to back up what they are talking about but realistically some private profiles post good feedback anyway - you just kinda have to deal with it as it comes its either a good idea or it isn't.
As to the OP statement I personally agree, but I know why GGG don't do it that way. Fundamentally the problem with achievements in games is players don't like not achieving and feel like its an insult rather than just accepting they won't get everything. As a result challenges are largely there to create long term league interest instead and they succeed at this I think - the idea isn't to challenge. Its messy because frankly if you do your league challenges solo but you trade and play ES stacking tricksters (just for example) you are basically taking a path as easy buying them anyway infact its just another way to buy them. End result its more popular in the long run to actually have them able to be bought - if you don't want to buy them then don't, I don't and its why I finish a good league at 36-39 usually. I'm OK with that it doesn't matter that somebody else bought 40 why would it? |

I don't think it should be a blanket requirement for all challenges, but it would be nice if solo-play was a stipulation for enough of the challenges that you couldnt finish out your MTX collection or get 40/40 from a carry alone.

" I wouldn't object if GGG made an effort to make 40/40 SSF friendly. As it stands, getting the new memory strand orbs are pretty difficult without trading, among a few others. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
