Let's poll - what are the most important things to fix in POE 2?
GGG needs to dumpster their speedracing aspirations. It's cringe.

Vox populi, vox dei.
152 people have voted, which is very good sample size. The top voted item is "Balance skill damage to increase build diversity" with 84 votes, so 55% of all voters. The best thing about fixing the balance is, that it should not alienate any players -> most likely no-one will stop playing POE 2 if the issue is fixed. The second voted item is auction house, and for that I'd argue the same. There are people who play SSF, who don't care either way, but for trade players this is a big deal. The third is actual crafting, which there are some threads about in the forum, but I don't personally know what is the best model for this - someone wiser than me can probably elaborate further. Fourth is movement speed - this will not make anyone leave either. If something is a must have roll, it should not be in the game at all -> better to give the players +25% movement speed by default & remove the roll altogether. This will also help balancing the boss difficulty, as the movement speed no longer plays a significant factor, like it does for e.g. the puke bird. |

So, first, I want to thank the OP for putting this together. Plenty of people have demanded that GGG organize a poll of this type, but this is the first time I've seen one of those people actually just put together their own poll of this type, so kudos for taking the initiative.
Looking at the straw poll results so far, though, there appears to be no strong consensus about what's most urgently in need of attention. The only item in double-digits is the relatively non-specific "balance skill damage/increase build diversity," which is only barely into double-digit territory, and not really actionable. I mean, obviously GGG want to promote build diversity, so you're literally telling them to do something here that they already want to do, and not really giving them any useful direction as to how you think they should accomplish this. For the record, simply equalizing damage across all skills just results in the skills that do the most things while doing just as much damage as any other options being objectively better than those other options, at which point those skills just win. It not only does nothing to improve build diversity, it likely results in worse build diversity. So no, simplistically balancing skill damage does not improve build diversity, and if you have something more complex in mind for this bullet point, it's being lost in the process of being flattened into a bullet point that can added to an online poll. This confirms my long-held suspicion about the utility of this sort of poll as a design tool, and pretty clearly demonstrates why GGG should not be conducting polls to decide what to do next. Stay sane, exiles!

" As explained a million times: EXP penalty is negligible before level 90 and levels 90-100 are entirely optional and not meant to be done by everyone. Also, Omen of Amelioration exists. Working as intended and hopefully never changed. The fact that you would designate the EXP penalty as the most important problem, let alone the only problem of POE2 is sad and tells me this game is probably not for you. " Do note, that there are two different topics at play here: 1) The direction - does GGG see build diversity important or not, and if so, how important compared to something else? 2) If build diversity is seen important, how to implement it practice. There are multiple ways to do it 1) Balance skill damage 2) Balance tree 3) Balance rolls 4) Balance skill mana costs 5) Balance Ascendancy Classes 6) ... The first question is something which is ultimately a matter of opinion, hence polling works for figuring it out. The second "how to" is a much more difficult question, which requires in depth understanding (= data) of how the game ticks. This forum can give some suggestions, but ultimately cannot know what is the best way to do it. Hence, polling "what is the best way to balance builds" will not work -> this needs to be tested by GGG. Assuming they wish to add build diversity. And PS. I don't really undestand your comment about barely double digit figures, 55% is a huge number. Last edited by Legioona#1076 on May 21, 2025, 8:34:03 AM

" right now this game for people without life with ultimate frustration level and angry managment...so you are right, game is not for me.... |

It is a sad affair.
The core game is really well made, smooth, responsive, nice to look at. But the active skills often feel like sabotage. This game feels like an RPG with 3 classes and 9 viable builds. What a waste of resources for GGG. | |
The Omen of Amelioration dose not always work!
IF it would 100% of the time then i would be fine with the exp loss after lev 90. |
