0.2g and planned new Strongbox "quality of life" is SO tone deaf

That's literally targeted at consoles

Remember "console version will not affect main game"

Then 3 flasks were removed, because hard to use on consoles (official info)

PoE2 is full console game, since like you've said there is no problems with clicking alchemy from inventory on PC

I'm not on console but play with a gamepad on PC. It's already extremely easy to use currency on strongboxes. You just walk up to it, hold down your interact button and your inventory opens, then move to currency in your inventory. You can't select anything else, only currency. It's simple.

If I was using mouse and keyboard, the new QOL would be really helpful because you can just click an icon on the screen without having to open your inventory and look for it and then click.

Gamers are finding literally anything to complain about for no reason.

Might be worth considering, could be an eye opener.

Have you stopped to consider that maybe the world isn't consisted of just extremes, and that there are middle grounds?

Might be worth considering, could be an eye opener.

I see zero problems as a keyboard/mouse player in that being added and I'm really grateful that flask piano has finally gone away. Actually I'm only playing poe2 because it is finally gone.

It has gone from PoE1 long ago though

Indeed I have stopped playing poe1 before this being added. I was still following the news though.

Unless unique flasks like Atziri's Promise and Taste of Hate, as well as Quicksilver, have changed considerably, flask piano still should be a problem there. Actually, I've just searched that (to be sure) and have seen people still complain about that recently.

But I recognize that it might have improved that situation, at least for not yet optimized builds.

Nah, those orbs solved the flask issue for anyone who knows how to apply them.

What exactly is the purpose of forcing people to use up extremely limited inventory space, or portal out to go grab them?

Friction is fun. GGG thinks players need to be grinded on these inconveniences to make the game fun, like having a miniscule inventory that is deliberately designed to not match the shape of the items you pick up half the time, and not giving you a sort button so you have to manually arrange items.

It's fun! Yay!

GGG is not out of touch with the playerbase. They're out of touch with reality.

So your advocating for unlimited inventory space or what?

Grim Dawn. Can't be called "unlimited". However, when u finish normal campaign u can acquire about 4 or 5(can't recall the exact number sry) player inventory pages.

I see that strongboxes will now show icons that allow you to consume orbs from your inventory.

So, apparently GGG seems to think the issue is opening inventory and clicking the orbs?!?!?! This is extremely tone deaf.

Orbs occupy inventory space, of which you don't really have enough. It'd be fantastic if your inventory had an orbs section for consumables you need while playing. Or, why not just consume orbs from Stash? What exactly is the purpose of forcing people to use up extremely limited inventory space, or portal out to go grab them?

I mean, at this point, it feels like GGG is actively trolling us...

You all know that selling stash tabs is a reliable cash cow for GGG's revenue, right?

If space was not a commodity then GGG would have started with 1:1 slot for everything. Other QoL features such as sorting and filtering take away the organizational friction that pushes many players to solve it by just buying more space.

Heck, it's even trivial to make an in-game pocket dimension to dump all the loot. But that will never happen and there are good reasons as to why, not least of all if making money.

Havent played it.
So in Grim Dawn you have 5 times as large of an inventory space as in poe2?
(Not talking about stash but what you can carry)

If so that sounds ridiculous.

Well thats why it was a question and not a statement.

Their adding what is (in my opinion) a very good qol change to strongboxes.

OPs response is calling this "tone deaf" and being "trolled by GGG".
Claiming that his is nonsense and its not the issue and that there is no purpose in forcing people to use up "extremely limited inventory space"

So from my pov its very unclear what hes actually asking for and why this is a bad change. I mean carrying wisdom scrolls and some blue orbs take up 3 inventory slots, out of 60 or whatever it is. Is that really the big issue?

If you wanna make suggestions for improving the inventory system then go right ahead. But I dont see how thats related to this being a bad change or whats constructive about the original post. Seams like hes just being negative to be negative.

But lets give him the benefit of doubt that hes not asking for unlimited inventory space.
How many sets of armour should your character be able to carry in his pouch in this rpg game? What would be a reasonable amount for you?

1:1 slot for everything isnt the case because it wasnt like that in d2.
And its also illogical for a set of armour to take up as much space as a ring.

RPG games where your character can just carry unlimited amounts of armour sets is just stupid and ridiculous.

No its not ridiculous because Grim Dawn is fundamentally designed different than PoE. Limited inventory space is to impose friction. What kind of friction ? Inventory management on the fly and limited portals (max 6) originally in PoE 1. It was deliberately designed this way originally to fulfill the fantasy of harsh and unforgiving atmosphere of Wraeclast, and kept being that way because of balancing and tailoring the game around trading.

By having limited inventory space and portals, there will be calculations of tradeoff / value between time, efficiency, type of items you pick up / filtered, party play, when doing maps. It falls into the equation of resources acquisition efficiency as its become even more prevalent in later updates / expansion of PoE 1 game because there are just alot of loots and various game mechanic that will requires you having certain items in your inventory in order to maximize the gain that you could get from the game mechanic.
