Mouse cursor aiming discrepancy + other targetting issues
Yeah the aiming sucks horrendously. I'd rate it as a pretty major issue honestly. Watching incinerate repeatedly miss because an enemy is strafing me and the awful auto aim won't let me aim ahead of the enemy to compensate. I just about have to play controller on my incinerate build because it's the only way I can smoothly sweep the flames back and forth over a group of enemies rather than WASD where my mouse aim keeps getting stuck on an enemy and refuses to keep rotating.
Same for all slower moving projectiles it feels horrible. They want this game more involved and challenging, but that only feels good if we have sufficient good control over our character. F tier aiming is the biggest hurdle to that currently. |

Thanks for your perspective. It really highlights why it's a seemingly small issue but which has a huge impact on both the balance and mechanical feel/fun of almost every skill in the game. Autoaim just exacerbates the issue even more.

Thanks for the post, played a lot of ED/contagion lich and it was very frustrating to constantly have my ed projectiles going haywire.
Another thing but I don't know if its related, but if there was any obstacle in the map, like a stone, my contagion wouldn't cast beyond it, even though it "should" it considers the stone a wall and casts before it |

Rejoice, exiles! All three of these issues were discussed in detail by Jonathan near the end of his interview with Talkative Tri yesterday. It might be a little premature to claim victory, since nothing concrete was promised, but it's clear Jonathan now understands the problem and they'll likely be bringing an option for chest-aiming and toggleable options to disable auto-targeting & namelocking.
Hopefully the changes are in one of the upcoming 0.2.x updates. And if not, here's hoping for 0.3.0. |
