POE2 is Junk and "The Vision" [Removed by Support]
You should all just form some support group and sit there in a circle holding each other's hands.

" Who is "we" and what are you counting and what are you talking about? |

" Could you please be civil and not barge in on our support group meeting? Where's your compassion and empathy? Please! |

" This is that group, please refrain from talking unless you're holding the speaking stick. |

Imagine getting humbled so bad by a video game you start treating the devs like they personally wronged you.

" yup, that what fans of "meaningfull combat" can't understand. POE 2 - is litteraly remake of POE 1 with WHOLE mechanics of turbo gameplay and one-button builds. But GGG (Jonathan himself) is trying to put here a meaningfull combat system. Ill try to show in examples - let's take any souls game, imagine you fight against 10 of Malenias and everyone of them at x1.5 speed, but you are still have dodgeroll and parry timewindows as usual. This is litteraly of Jonathan's vision. I like meaningfull and difficult combat, but it will not happen in POE 2 in that state of game. They must start to slow down whole mechanics in the entire game - every mobs must be slow as any bosses and tripple less crowdy. Can you imagine such gameplay in POE 2 now? And the only reason the campaign bears some resemblance of "slow and meaningful" combat, is because Johnathan has taken away the tools to do anything else.
The currency drops (including things like omens and essences) are so stingy that they might as well not exist during the campaign, and thus players end up playing the campaign with one hand tied behind the back and one eye sawn shut. The "bad luck protection" in the recent patch being limited to the first time you kill a campaign boss, is one example of that stinginess. The moment you enter the endgame and are able to farm for the currencies properly, you find that all that meaningful combat is out the window. POE2 did not achieve the vision by designing for the vision. POE2 is trying to achieve that vision by limiting players, and that's why campaign feels so bad. |

"I think it's delusional to think that PoE can have "meaningful combat" in the first place. PoE and basically any other ARPG are games based on "stat checking". You can't overcome shit in the game if your stats are to low, and THAT is the prime example of "souls-like" games... you can, in fact, overcome everything with skill, no matter your stats. Yeah, I am still looking for the "slow and meaningful gameplay" when I enter Vaal factory or Blooming fields and I get pelted by 20 different mobs with ranged poison, fire, lighning and ice blowing up my entire screen with visual clutter while I try to fight off 10 hard hitting melee mobs and a rare with volatile plants and temporal bubble at the same time.

" you forgot to mention the hole time your fighting your being penalized and slowed down to a crawl, and when you dodge roll you are then unable to cast for 1.5 secs after... lets not mention the fact that the adds can move you around and interrupt your already absurdly long wind up or cast time. If you use totems and you try to place them any add can come by and say nope I don't like it there, lets take it to the other side of the room. I love poe, and I like poe 2... but when all of these issues are hitting you at once and all the adds can stun you just by looking at you... it really y does take a lot of the fun away. The simple fact is we just don't have a good replacement game right now either, worse so for us on console. We have the D4 that is so easy I can play one handed and repeats its content each season with a new name, PC has the last epoch I think is the name, ive never played that one. Poe 1 hasn't been updated in forever, and again on console it runs horrible do it its 10 year old servers im guessing. So here we sit, hoping and praying that Poe 2 comes together nicely and soon. |
