POE2 has strict Authoritarian Builds, diversity isn't possible BY DESIGN. RIP Buildcrafting.

Game isnt done yet. :D

I would add another thing - a lot of skills and skill/gem/gear/passives interactions are bugged, many of them are bugged from day 1, some were reported 10x since then, and yet, you read in patch notes that another skill that actually worked is nerfed or reworked but skills that do not work (and hence noone play them because you cant make a build around them) are completely ignored :(

yep, i have been trying to get someone to notice crescendo does not work with rapid assault so i can actually play the skill without it sucking and nothing. bug posts, replies in the update posts, msg direct on discord, ect. nothing. then jungroan does something OP on stream from a bug he found and it gets fixed same day. they have the ability to do this shit but they are not.

GGG has been making ARPGs for 12y. They have no excuse.
Yup, the amount of things I have to do very specifically just to make demon form infernalist playable end game means I have almost zero options otherwise (not including a 60+ div belt I got lucky on). Even then I am not really getting past level 90 without completely changing my build and giving up.

I agree with this thread, I dislike the new system, so many skills are outright useless while others are a basic requirement in order to do any damage. POE 2 isn't going to sustain it's player base for long.

I see this argument all over the place, and while it isn't wrong in principle, it doesn't take into account what's happening.

Imagine watching someone bake a cake that you'll be eating. He starts with some pretty fundamental ingredients—flour, eggs, milk. He mixes it up and it's looking good.

Then he changes things up. He adds three cups of dogshit to the batter. He sprinkles in horseshit, ground-up rabbit droppings, and shredded cardboard.

"Whoa," another would-be eater of the cake says. "The shredded cardboard is an odd choice, but can we at least get rid of all that shit."

The chef makes a dismissive gesture. He says, "The feces is part of the vision."

"Cake isn't done yet," someone else says condescendingly to the objector—and yeah, he ain't wrong. The cake isn't done yet, but the chef has intentionally thrown shit into the batter.

And then you immediately eat a big spoonful of sloppy eggs and flour and complain that it's not a very good cake?

'cause that's what you're doing right now dude. I don't have to read the rest of your analogy because this is the stage of development they're at and you're complaining as if it's a finished product.

Also, this whole argument is just bunk anyway. I'm playing literally the least popular Ascendancy in the game right now with a build I just came up on the fly with and it's working fine.

Even the builds on poe2.ninja display a huge amount of internal diversity if you take the time to look beyond the top level percentages.

It's a little disengenuous to change the analogy, and then argue against your edit, but I take your point, if only up to a point:

It's a game we've already paid for. I'd alluded to that in my original analogy—which even suggests it's perfectly valid to give feedback during the development of something you've a stake in. Go figure.

Yep ... please combo. First do X then within 2 seconds do y then step back and do Z and your skill will do full damage to 1 mob.

Meanwhile there are 40 mobs on you, you cant outrun them, you are just screwed.
