Exilecon 2019 Official PoE 2 Announcement.

The reason a lot of POE 1 players supported the game was because of POE 2 being mostly a graphical update and expansion to POE 1.

I have no idea who decided to change the business plan into making POE 2 separate, but it has hurt a lot of oldschool fans trust. They should have just given Path of Exile a second campaign, a graphical update and some new ascendancies. People would have been happy in such a situation.

Well, at least they got our supporter money by keeping silent for 2 years.
At this point, GGG is scamming us.

What Chris said in 2019 not only made sense, but it was the right thing to do.
It's literally impossible to create a new game that can compete with PoE1 and the amount of stuff in it, especially if you don't want to divide the player base.
Then, GGG bait and switched after 4 years and told us, "Well, we now make it a separate game and ignore all obvious problems, thanks for your money".
Around this time, Chris was rarely in the office. Coincidence?
Bex left, and then shortly after PoE2 EA Chris left too. Coincidence?
Now, Hrishi left while PoE2 is in full development. Coincidence?

Jonathan told us, "PoE2 development will not interfere with PoE1", while he had already taken the PoE1 devs to work on PoE2, and according to a leak - this is "normal" practice at GGG for years now.

Chris was the heart and soul of GGG development team. The Tencent 100% acquisition seems to drived a huge wrench and Chris stepping out just made clear GGG is done being what it was during PoE 1.

PoE 2 under Jonathan is scrambling behind the credibility Chris crafted over the years. The 0.2g patch overhauling loot drop rates just shows how Devs are desperated to appease players and yet they can't deploy a patch without botch it.

When key devs leave, roles can only be occupied by less experienced devs because if they hired any superstar devs from some big company they'd mention it. quite naturally, the results show. ive only seen error after error. priorities wrong. you cannot feel "great quality". its no longer there. it was not like this before.

jun, alva were iconic creations of the past, and now, they can only come up with "wisp". for some, delve was it, im no delve fan and that's good people are able to choose mechanics.

i'd of rather they just reset the economy and not add wisp. its truly shameful as a concept.

again i think they should hire me to do creative work for them.

That Chris Wilson is leaving without saying anything is kinda telling, especially when Jonathan responds to the question what happened to Chris with a "Well, he wasn't doing much anyway, lul".
We don't asked what he did or did not at GGG... we asked WHY THE HELL HE LEFT!
And why does it coincidentally fit with the "Oopsie daisy, we change the direction 180°"!?

You know, Chris saying nothing himself about the situation says a lot.
IF he would leave GGG on "good terms" - he just would tell us and go something like "After over a decade as the face of GGG - I want to celebrate my retirement, collect more Magic cards and watch the stars, but you are in good hands. Stay sane!".
BUT if he isn't on "good terms" with GGG, they would let him sign stuff to keep his mouth shut, until he is "forgotten".

POE1 is an old game now bro...let it go! 10 years past and people should understand that is a half life time of a gamer. Just let it go.

The profit will be the same for the company.

Bruh... PoE1 is a live service game and has evolved over the years into what ppl love today.

Shutting down the PoE1 servers and/or stopping the development forever would lose sooo many PoE players... you actually have no clue what you are talking about. PoE2 can not - without P2W - gain enough income for GGG if the PoE1 community is gone.

The whole scenario is so messed up that is ludricrous people still believe Chris wasn't the only one holding up the quality control and serious tests before releasing patches and updates live.

After he left, GGG regressed to amateur hour.
