You don't know what makes Dark Souls fun

You rolled out of bed, and are quite slow so I definitely think you qualify as a souls-like!!
Methodical combat cannot exist in an arpg outside boss fights .
It is totally antithetic .

Poe1 has everything solved , Gegege needs to go back to the roots and build on what has already been working for decades .

Or if they want meaningful combat just delete everything and make a real souls-like game . This is a joke trying to have 1 foot here the other there .
50 monsters jumping you at the speed of light is not compatible with any form of meaningful combat like silly parry and disengage .

Arpg is character progression , blowing up hordes of monsters , getting a ton of loot rinse and repeat .
You cannot change that no matter how revolutionary ideas you have . Not going to work .
Souls like elements are for souls like games .
This is an arpg it has no business trying to be methodical.

Huge packs of monsters that mindlessly sprint at you, where you die in one hit from an impossible to see effect on the ground while you spend 30 seconds hitting the same thing over and over trying to hack through it's health bar.

I was born blind in my left eye and have limited vision in my right eye and I don't have an issue with "impossible to see effects". That is a skill issue on your part. You say the game isn't difficult for you, but you are clearly not able to deal with a mechanic that a girl that is practically blind can deal with...the bar for dealing with that is pretty damn low if I can deal with it.

And you can see my high level characters on the HC SSF DotH leader boards that are dead because I made mistakes and I know how I could have avoided each one of those deaths. The character I'm working that I started after I screwed up and died last night is in the 50's now and will soon be another character that is alive on that list.

Seriously, people need to start taking responsibility for their own failures and learn from them instead of always blaming something else. If I can do it with my limitations, no else gets to complain about the game "holding them back"...unless you have no arms, which could be a thing also because I have a friend who was born with no arms. She used to stream LoL and she got to platinum without arms, while people in lower ranks were complaining that they were being held back by elo hell.

The thing is that people play games for different reasons.

There is a large group of people who start by choosing a play style that they like and then go out there looking for games that offer that play style.
PoE 1 offered that play style, so they expected PoE 2—being a sequel and all—to also offer that play style.
After all, people initially discovered PoE 1 the same way—they were looking for a game that's "like Diablo 2, just more modern."

I think that ultimately, GGG's failure here is that they marketed the game incorrectly.

And in some sense you're right—picking up a game, figuring out how to play it, and getting good at it; that's definitely a solution. But it's also fair to recognize that that's not the only way people approach games.

Can you please point me where Jonathan or other lead devs said that they want to make souls like as poe2?

It may not be directly stated but its very obvious the games combat system has taken alot of aspects from darksouls or souls like games, the slower more grounded style, the dodge roll, the bosses with deadly attacks outside of the fact darksouls never has restricted your respawn attempts this games heavier combat is very similar and can be compared.

I rolled out of bed this morning, am I a souls like?

Lmao

I'm sorry, I wanted a bit of action in my rpg.
+1 calling it path of exile was such a bait and switch
Shit atlas tree
Shit skill tree
Shit tedious gameplay
Shit "crafting"

reduced crafting to random gambling or even better yet window shopping at merchants, because finding the best gear upgrades from merchants is so exciting.

Also fuck the dumbass well

Now tell me where any of that is in PoE2. Huge packs of monsters that mindlessly sprint at you, where you die in one hit from an impossible to see effect on the ground while you spend 30 seconds hitting the same thing over and over trying to hack through it's health bar. It's boring, monotonous, and draining. There's no fun to be found in tedium.

POE2 they showed a year ago had much less monsters. And it looked good (you can check it, still on their youtube channel). But then, probably after closed beta, they increased number of mobs by a lot (turning it basically into POE 1) and everything went off the track.

This idea that "hard game is fun cuz it's hard"

I dunno why but I have the weird feeling that this is a strawman. Call it a hunch.
+1

I really got tired of trying to explain myself, though.

Next season same bs? Well, guess what. Fool me twice...
