"ALSO Fubgun quit SO yea, I quit too."

but it isnt a Single streamer,

its all of them,

Ruetwo, Zizaran, Steelmage, Quinn69, Ben, Fubgun, Darthmicro, just to name a few.

when your biggest streamers of the game stream and are shitting on it,

AKA you FREE UNPAID Advertisements.

your not going to get a good show.

yes you can say, oh well he is just mimicing his crowd of people.

but at the end of the day, the streamers get people to flock to the games they are playing, and play the games with their viewers/streamers more often than you think.

Empyreangaming didnt even steam/play this league, unsure why but i think he and his team read the patch notes and were like im having none of this.

ive watched Empyrean every league launch, i like his content and sub,

it just annoys me the GGG Mods/Admin, are going to keep saying **You Think you do but you dont**, yes i know thats a Blizzard quote, but how wrong where blizzard,

they said no to classic for years, and now its its own branching franchise with hundreds of thousands of players, yes it has diversified the crowd, but it kept the crowd.

what GGG is diversifying the crowd to other games, not their own.

Streamers leaving early doesn’t mean the game is dead, it means the meta isn’t entertaining for them right now. That’s not the same thing.

These are people who play the game 8+ hours a day and rely on excitement and novelty to keep their audiences engaged. If the meta gets stale or frustrating (LS dominance, slow balance response, lack of endgame variety), they bounce. That's totally fair, they’re entertainers, not QA testers.

But this isn’t a mass extinction event. This is a normal ebb in streamer engagement after a huge patch cycle, especially with a monster update for Last Epoch tomorrow. If you think that’s a coincidence, it’s not.

The problem isn’t that these streamers are quitting, it’s that people are treating their exit as a signal to abandon ship themselves. If your enjoyment hinges entirely on what streamers are doing, you're probably not here for the game, you're here for the hype train. And hype trains always have stops.

Let the devs patch the balance (as they always do), let other games have their moment, and let PoE2 breathe. Not every patch needs to be "the greatest league ever."

+1
exactly this, why so much hostility against a team that is already working overtime behind the scene at all.

at least there's one sane exile here I see.
people just _can't_ accept any downtime any more it seems.

Isn't this what everyone was saying on release? Interesting thing is a similar thing is going on in tekken 8, harada and their devs are super focused on their vision of the game to bring in a wider audience and there were a lot of problems with seasons one. Everyone was saying "just wait for season 2! they'll fix it!" The devs started talking about how they messed up and wanted to focus on better defensive options and then the patch dropped and the oppressive offence in the game just got more egregious and there's been a mass exodus.

PoE 2 is in a similar spot, I got multiple characters decently far into mapping and a few others into the 40s/50s and the game felt like it was getting better, but seasons 2 has gutted much of it and I'm struggling to even justify mapping on 1 character. Not because of anything a streamer has said but because it feels bad to play.

i mean this is false,

if you watched the interview with Jonahtan/Mark and Zizaren, you would know the passion he showed for the game and the questions had validity by the REsponse from Jonathan and Mark.

streamers want the best game possible.

streamers played POE1 for years and years, and for 10+ hours a day most days.

if they cant stomach 3-4 hours of it, when its their job.

there is an issue.

no, actually not true

they consistently say the path of exile is their favorite of all favorites but not at its current state. they will always prio Poe over other games aslong as poe is it at its norm.

and its not just them, its thousands of us.

Working overtime behind the scenes? They only do it because shit is on fire, and it's their job.

With "0.1.0", they delivered a hot mess, but it was HOT.
But instead of working on the mess, they removed everything hot and turned it into a cold, lifeless mass.

And ppl can't accept downtime anymore?
Dude... the PoE community accepted downtime for YEARS. Fewer and fewer resources to PoE1, constantly telling us "Nyo, we don't fix issue X/Y/Z in PoE1 because PoE2 will fix it"...
Hell, PoE2 was meant to be a PoE1 expansion, then after a long downtime it changed to "PoE2 is a separate game now", then after another downtime we got Exilecon and saw a game that is named "Path of Exile" with nearly any "Path of Exile" in it, then another downtime and we got the hot mess mentioned earlier.

And still, after all that stuff, the majority of ppl were positive.
We give feedback and GGG improves, right!?
QoL improvements, fixing bugs, nerfing broken shit and buffing useless things, adding content and other progession options... going from the "0.1.0" UP and not DOWN.

For years, the community has said something specific:
"We are the beta testers".
It's not a meme because it's funny, it's a meme because it's the sad truth, and we laugh about it. We accepted being LITERALLY the beta testers for everything over many years because "PoE2 will fix it - copium", and it did not.

It devolved, created even new problems to fix, and barely improved on anything existing, while "the Vision" turns PoE step by step in Diablo 4.

So, "downtime" you say!? Yes. I am down to put my time somewhere else.

People like Fubgun are the canary in the coal mine and you shouldn't ignore them

Fubgun makes his living with streaming POE and despite that he decided to quit. He just couldn't take the tedious unfun game anymore.
He isn't just being dramatic for profits. He's actually making a loss here.

i mean his viewers will still watch him play other games,

but a few of the viewers might have only watched him for POE Content,

if he doesnt do that anymore,

GG... G...

he will definately lose income.
What a stupid discussion.
NO ONE OWE YOU ANYTHING.
Not even GGG. It's an entertainment product, that's it.
It's nothing more than a movie. If you don't like it, don't watch it. Surely plenty of other people will.

This is the mentality that kills franchises for everyone. Way to be part of the problem. But tbh your probably used to that kind of thing

Agreed. BUT - if a guy who makes a living off streaming a game, and plays every league for weeks when it comes out, quits this early - it should send a message to the devs that something is clearly wrong with the game. I hope it does.
This might be an unpopular opinion but I just don't think we should base the design of the entire game off a single streamer's views.

Its not just Fubgun who quit. All the other streamers i watch quit as well and went to Last Epoch. Because the game is in such a terrible state atm that they were kind of forced to. Fubgun is usually one of the last POE warriors still creating content for the more grindy players. Last patch was the last straw for Fubgun and many others
