To Jonathan's 'pacing' of the game dilemma. Wrong! ARPG combat 'cab be' quantified. (Explained)
" No, actually, I did not. If you actually read my post, I took in consideration actual feedback I got from friends with how long it took them to complete PoE 2's Campaign (all the way up to Cruel) and also considered my own number of hours it took to complete the Campaign (which fell within the 23-30 hours mark up to Cruel). I then took GGG's vision/direction of the game in consideration to 'remain' the way it is (resulting in a longer gameplay experience). That is where I came up with multiplying [x] the values by 2. Now, factor in whatever 'tweak(s)' they're going to make (as a result of player backlash) to cut back on the time it takes to complete the Campaign, up to Cruel? And that is where I came up with the 28% reduction. So yea, my answer still remains: 36-65 hours for casuals / 29-43 hours for diehard play (down from 50 - 90 hours for casuals and 40 - 60 hours from veterans/diehards 'after' those values were multiplied [given GGG's vision for a slower game] and then cut by 28% When game developers ignore the criticism that would improve their game, the game fails. Just because a game receives a great amount of praise vs. only a small amount of criticism does not mean to call it a day and make a foolish misplaced assumption that it is perfect.
