Jonathan interrupting Ziz

Near the end of the interview, Ziz said something like "I know at the start things were a bit heated, but I appreciate..." -- Jonathan then responded similarly something like "This morning I didn't wake up on the right side of the bed and rest wasn't that great..."

Personally, I found both parties handled things well -- The start of the interview went out Guns-Blazing ;)

He apologizes at the end of the video.
Interrupting people is something people with ADHD tend to do -- it may not have been an intentional thing, and likely wasn't intentional to be rude.

Not gonna beat the guy up over that.
Honestly I think the more important take away is that they actually had a real discourse with actual back and forth.

That took guts. Plus I bet it's hard when you're working your a** off on a project, things go wrong and people start roasting your baby... dudes probably exhausted and stressed out.

I'm not gonna hold that against him. He could have done what most developers do and just not have the interview... but he didn't p*ssy out. He rose to the challenge.

All I have is respect, even if I don't agree with everything he said.

Having seen multiple interviews of Jonathan, its clear that it is his style of communication of talking fast and thinking quickly and in parallel which leads both to him interrupting the person asking the question, and also having to restart his argument multiple times to frame it the way he intends to.

Of course its never good to interrupt someone that is asking a question, unless in very specific scenarios. We also have to factor in the comms delay inherent to speaking over the internet, which leads to people speaking over one another unwillingly (anybody who started working remotely since the pandemic knows this effect), and the protocol of how to handle questions should be pre-arranged by both parties before the interview (the interviewer must take the leadership on doing this).

With all that said, the calls for Jonathan to leave the interview, or leave the development of POE2 (which flooded Zizzaran's chat on Youtube) are completely out of bounds, utterly disrespectful and it shows on the people who calls for this their immaturity and disregard of how to treat one another online. Unfortunately these things are common nowadays on the internet.

Honestly It wasn't a great look for Jonathan, but also I understand it, From watching Jonathan in POE videos for years... He's a big excitable nerd. He gets excited about conversation and wants to jump in with his thoughts. I don't see it as malicious, buuuuut it's not very professional, especially in an important interview. I don't hold it against him too much, but it's probably something he should work on. You could see the frustration on Ziz's face when he'd get interrupted.

Jonathan's style is fine in good times but under pressure when the community is looking for reassurance and some acknowledgement of their concerns it just compounds the problem.

Ziz was really unmatured and bad and this interview. He is the last person. Clearly want bad changes that are against what community want for sake of his work.
