Jonathan interrupting Ziz
Watching the interview, it's rare that Jonathan lets Ziz finish speaking his thoughts. It's incredibly rude behavior, and it's an obvious sign that he's refusing to honestly engage with the conversation.

" PoE 2 is straight dead. The answers are not only interrupting, answering something completely different, but also show how disconnected they are not with the game, but reality itself. Him doubling and tripling down on players being slower than monsters is baffling. What exactly is engaging if every encounter is a melee encounter. When every player is FORCED to be able to survive a melee scrap with a monster, when the player has no choice. In what universe is taking choices away from players considered engaging? Could it be that absolutely saturating your game with massive AoEs and Ranged attacks produced this issue? Some of the most engaging combat I had was in the souls games, not only were nearly all enemies slower than me, also almost all bosses were slower then me, guess what, I had to go into their attack range to kill them, and why would I want to kill them? Oh gee, maybe because every single one of them would guarantee me a reward. The fact that he could not even answer "how long should the campaign take" shows that they have absolutely no idea what they are doing. If they don't know where the average is, how do they know what is underperforming and what is overperforming? Shame, they had an actually amazing run, but its time for a different studio to take their place, maybe one that actually has a vision and not just shooting from the hip, hoping to score some hits. |

" No, the questions are mostly anecdotal and hyperbolic, while also being asked in an extremely condescending way, as that is how Ziz operates thinking he is holier than thou. If you can't understand why Jon would be frustrated when 99% of the questions start with "in poe1...", then I don't know what to tell you. Last edited by Seanprice798#2395 on Apr 8, 2025, 6:32:21 PM

100% Agree. If you sign up for an interview you should listen to the whole question before you speak.
He looks extremely unprofessional and more like a child instead of a person that is giving good and solid arguments about what is being asked. |

I honestly don't fell like Jonathan knows anything about ARPG's his whole concept is so totally flawed. I have played D1,D2 most of my life I did some D3 and the story of d4 then stopped. I have played LE and a bunch of POE. Two just missed the mark. Him saying no one is going to play the game if it's easier. We play the game for the new content and making new builds. We don't play so we can hate the super slow unrewarding content. POE is great because of how complex the game is.

" Then maybe they shouldn't be making PoE2 like PoE1. You can't encourage slow tactical gameplay and then give us timed leagues like Breach and Delirium which forces you to blitz content to get anything rewarding, for example. You'll forgive Zizaran for comparing it to PoE1 when GGG ultimately are learning nothing about what not to do. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley |

Tbh grow up. Nobody is perfect. The interview was fine, there's always someone complaining that someones conduct wasn't perfect.

" I believe Mark handled the interview *Perfectly* and while I think Jonathan could have used some work in managing his emotions during the interview, I appreciated his recognition near the end that maybe he came in too heated to the interview. That's a good start for me, and I'll take it |

Jonathan has a list of prepared arguments that he engages automatically if certain keywords are spoken. That is why he does not need to listen to the rest of the question
