Yup. There's always a big sampling bias on game forums. People mostly come to them to complain.

At the same time, I do have to say, PoE has always had one of the most toxic communities I've been on in how it treats the game's developers and how much it complains. Can't say I've ever KYS comments and even death threats launched at GW2 developers or Squad developers or heck, even CS developers.

People are playing the world's 2nd most popular Diablo-like and every patch - mind you, also true for PoE1 - has threads like "game is dead" etc. It's silly.

When you talk individually with players or ask for advice or whatnot, most players are friendly enough and just fine. But the forums and Reddit is just overwhelmingly negative. To a ridiculous point. And a lot of the most aggressive complainers will anyway put 300 more hours into the game - which is even weirder. Feels like Stockholm syndrome at that point.

The worst thing is that the snarky complaints and the bit baity praise topics (like this one) kind of drown out collected, neutral feedback. People who are like "hey, I find the game pretty fun, tho there's a couple of things I think should be looked into and they are <x> and <y> because <z>" can't get their feedback through much.

To all apologists of the thesis that the game became better after 0.2.0, I recommend completing Xesht on T4, presenting video proof of the completion, and then confessing your love for the game and GGG team.

I can't agree more. GGG have 2 versions of POE, 1 for zoom zoom, fast action while 2 is like you said. By changing POE 2 as some streamers/players want like POE 1, in the future it will become POE 1 with better graphic, WASD movement... Really hope that they don't make this mistake, just give POE 1 new league, while continue what they are doing for POE 2, we can wait for late full release

I disagree, I did not want or expect that. Quite the opposite in fact. If I wanted to play PoE1, I would go play PoE1. They still support the game, maybe they'll do a graphics update and add in WSAD movement once they fully release PoE2

They've been trying so hard to drop PoE 1 it is not even funny

They've been actively supporting it. They're an independent development team with limited resources, they had to siphon some of those resources to get PoE2 online, and as SOON as they did they went back to fashion content for PoE1. Juggling both might get tricky at times for a company of their size, but they have been very very vocal about continuing to support PoE1
