If players want a better game...

Vision Thing killed 600+ hours of my life. Not wasting more time on tears, just playing other games. This was the worst patch I've seen in any game I've ever played. That just feels like a stone cold fact. It's not hyperbole.

I will say the POE 2 clips of streamers being aghast was comedy gold.

Do I hope the GGG ship rights itself and slips free this dreary anchor of "vision" that drags the game down to a sunless sea of tedium? I sure do, because I think under the awfulness of this current state there's the core of a game that could be worth more hours to make all those storage tabs I dutifully bought most times I saw "we're having a sale" a sound investment.

*shrug* It either gets better, gets worse, or stays about the same. In one of those scenarios, I can play again. I detest games that nerf to death every viable build, especially when there isn't even PvP involved to merit over-zealous "balancing."

ARPGs should be a positive slope up to satisfying, screen-clearing rampages of OP goodness. Those who want to painstakingly whittle away at white mobs can find those genres, done in a style far more suited to masochistic crawling through content.

I will miss my frostwall shattering into crushed ice. =^.^=
It's called narcissism. It's a societal epidemic, but it's particularly bad in places like this, where people ego identify with something like a game. They usually resort to emotional blackmail and exaggerations, fallacies, twisting words, cherrypicking to try to twist things to their favour.

Most people don't even know they're doing it. Never taught how to properly communicate, or manage their emotions. Basically ends up with the logic of 'I'm upset and YOU are the cause for it, and I'm justified in whatever I say and do now"

I especially like when people who supported the company try to claim that they should be listened to! Support is unconditional people. Not with demands attached to it.

Unfortunately, the moderators aren't quite versed with this sort of stuff, so it's largely ignored and left to go unchecked. And well, you can see the result of the forums because of it.

I'm actually in the minority that I don't think player feedback helps at all, which is why I hate Early Acess games, but this is PoE, I had to play it on Early Access, I have an addiction.

It's not player feedback that makes good games, it's passionate development team whose primary concern is to make a fun game. This patch screams of Blizzard-like ego back during their huge downfall. There were fun games, in fact still some of the best games back before games could never really receive player feedback until after the game was done and released. This is a new phenominon and I DON'T think it helps development cycles, it makes money before the game is done, so I understand why teams do it financially, but I personally just hate it. A beta test for a totally feature complete game being the exception.

I'm not in game dev but I've deployed at scale, and the days of private beta are long gone. It's now understood that you can't simulate millions of users without actually having millions of users interact with your system. Interestingly, AI agents might be able to take the place of test users in part, making an old-school beta a thing again. But until that's real, game companies have no choice but to let the users be the guinea pigs.

I had thought of this, and I'm aware this game is way too complex to release in a balanced state without massive testing. But I don't believe a game being perfectly balanced is a prerequisite to fun. It will need to happen at some point for sure, but my major point here is I'd just like a priority on the full game, all classes and acts being a higher priority than hyper-balance.

....aand now you're introducing AI into this? Lol.

Like let AI test the game over humans? Lol.

So me supporting the game thinking it was going to be the upgrade to POE1 it was promised as for years ago and now its whatever the hell is going on here means I don't have a say? So I vote for a congressman and now I no longer have any say about how he governs? I paid money to be here early SPECIFICALLY so I would have a say. What are you even talking about? My mans thinks his brain is bigger than it actually is.

TLDR: good that you're aware. It's about the time it can take to "fix" the mess that occurs. lol. (see below)

Many people are reporting that gameplay is feeling too slow. Sometimes this comes in the form of people saying that monster life is too high, or player damage is too low, or areas are taking too long. In this post we will talk about some of the things we have already done, and more of the changes we are planning on making.

Trade-offs of course as we all know. I feel the pacing of this is "improved" perhaps, mainly in terms of more "communication" to the customer.

From 0.1, we didn't have much like that, so perhaps this approach of more "incremental" is what they're trying out -- who knows.

You can argue the earlier these changes make it in, the earlier the testing yes, but they (GGG) should remember the "Quality" of the changes. There's no point in making useless changes that they end up reverting back.

Look at 0.2.0B, for example. Not saying 0.2.0B is bad at all -- I'm saying they're nerfing the Buff as a possibility can backfire. But I mean, it's an example of a rather large change that's done fairly quickly. And not much time to see the "impact" yet.

So again, just about the trade-offs, whether they're willing and Confident enough w/ the changes. In the end, they have to make their Deadlines. So, of course, it's up to them, but "Quality over Quantity" is not necessarily bad, at the expense of course -- time (i.e. Deadlines lol).

this forum is for feedback about the game, not your personal diary.

if you dont want to read feedback then dont come here.
this is like going to a football game and complaining about people playing football.

Oh is this from my long post? Lol (hmmm.....)

(If so, skip to the "TLDR" -- lol.)
