" This is what I want. And WASD... I'm frankly fine with a slowed pace, but there has to be setup with payoff. Payoffs don't feel good at all. Kind of like when you parry in Elden Ring and then crit and the boss gets Chunked, in this game you might notice the healthbar move for the first time, but just barely... I have been playing GGG games for over a decade. Since the Poe1 open beta. I try to purchase a support pack every launch. The reason was simple a game design and that there is no pay to win model. However, the game design for POE2 is insanely bad. Let's say you are a new player. Hey, I got an idea. I want more life for my character. How do I do that? Okay, get life on gear. But I can't target craft that. Okay, I will use crap gear from the ground. Okay, let's get life from the passive tree. Sorry, there is no life on the tree; it is too powerful. What the crap GGG. That is insane. Just one example. How about putting stuff in the game because it is understandable and easy to use? Seriously, I'm out. Do they realize that there are other games in the world that are fun to play? The game is dead.

The worst thing is that they lied for years about what PoE2 is. It was supposed to be an UPDATE to PoE1 with better graphics, remove bloat, streamline some stuff... the things that we needed to continue for another 10 years of zooming.
GGG, you had such a dedicated player base that threw you money every few months. I can't talk for everyone but I will never again give GGG anything. Probably not even my time anymore as PoE1 will probably never get a decent update again. |

" Funny thing is, they completely missed what the actual flaws of PoE1 are and brought them to PoE2 wholesale: - Monster speed and damage overwhelming the player instantly (including janky monster affix combinations) --- The reason PoE1 worked still, is that you can counter this with zoom and boom, which players like doing and in the end has become PoE1's identity - Itemisation is unbalanced and doesn't offer smooth progression --- PoE1 worked around this with detailed crafting and trade. PoE2, no good trade system, loot is even worse, no crafting - Sockets and colours needed for skill power, needing to get that 6L or just the right mix across gear to fit your build into --- PoE1 you just fix with currency dump and rolling (i.e. play the game more). PoE2, you don't even drop the currency to get to 6L in the first place... - Melee. Well, mostly because point 1 above and no good defensive counters for melee (e.g. Fortification doesn't work). " CHRIS has 10 years of POE Dev experience. Everyone else has been recylced again and again so that none of the devs working on POE2 have much experience iwht POE1. The paragraph about ascendancies is really resonating with me. There's so many first nodes you can take that won't actually increase your power until you overcome some sort of shitty downside, which trying to do in the campaign when mods on gear and the tree are so weak.
I took the can have two shocks node on Stormweaver, and along with heavy investment in shock chance and lightning damage on the tree, and keeping two shocks on an enemy is still iffy as hell. There's also so many nodes in ascendancies with a followup node that would make you feel stupid for not taking. It shrinks the feeling of choice on a tree that already lets you get just 4 notables. It's just bad design. |

" Hey man. We are really happy for you. We are giving feedback. This kind of stuff doesn't really help out. A lot of us are frustrated because we feel like we kind of got cheated a bit. I don't mind the game slowing down or becoming harder, but this doesn't feel like Path of Exile, the game this one is trying to be a sequel of. This feels like shit. It's slow, and plodding and uninteresting. POE1 is one of the greatest concoctions of mechanics ever created. I want you to be happy playing this game, but this game is ruthless. And those player numbers league after league are very, very low. If you want the game to continue, please just let us have our feedback. I can guarantee you that GGG will have a compromise that makes everyone happy because that is what they have always done. The game will be harder, slower but not like this. This isn't interesting. |
