Parry terrible, and that is the crux of the class. When you parry/disengage fast, most of the time the disengage just acts as a dash backwards, misses the target, and gives you nothing while the window expires. If you parry a hit from a stunning monster, boom your parry meter is gone and you are heavy stunned in one hit.
Imagine the campaign, now x10 the amount of monsters, 2x their speed and lethality. That is maps. Imagine trying to parry, disengage, in the middle of all those monsters, to get a single frenzy charge. You have just wasted like 4 seconds you could have spent just clearing the screen and not doing that, so you don't die, and it's faster.
Kind of crazy how bad it is in terms of efficiency when you view it like that. Mark my words none of the best builds will use parry unless something is working not as intended with it. Let's go waste slots on stun threshold just so we can get a bad mechanic to work! Yeah, no thanks.
The skills are also bad, act 2-3 especially, so I am wondering how you breezed through it. Are you a standard player that already had gear and only needed a spear? I see literally everyone else saying just go bows or xbow until like level 50+ and then you can make some decent stuff.
I am a very standard player and i am not following any "metas" or whatever you call it.
After well yes i have no problem using few buttons and use my brain to make a build decent enough.
And yes i breeze through the 3 acts (besides boss Act 2 where i needed to twist a bit my build for a bit of gold - lightning pen)
After i am not trying to finish the campaign in 6 hours, i am around the same level as the zone i am playing in.
As i said lightning spear(fork/chain/projectile/infusion) + lightning explosion with parry, disengage are what i am mostly doing, with primal armament now.
Mainly points in melee/ranged combo for damage with elemental/shock.
frenzy charges with eva.
And for defensive layer, a bit block and parry/evasion.
I have normal gears (did not trade anything)

Yes there are things as "vocal minority" or cognitive bias.
Just need to check a bit in qualitative survey(or voluntary ones) if you want to educate yourself.
I am looking for an engaging gameplay experience(does not matter the genre) and POE2 satisfy my need.
You can play D4/POE1/D2 if you are looking for something else.
I may not know how to code but i am working in the field of software implementation with devs, a project of this scale is complex at all level.
Most of the comments i see online are from people that probably never worked in any project implementation involving tech of any kind, displaying their ignorance and entitlement. (shameful)
Let's "fumble" together.
Why don't you present your "qualitative studies" then? You made a claim, the burden of proof is on you. As long as you can't prove that there is a "vocal minority" doing the things you ascribe to them, I can just reject anything you say by the merit of Hitchens' razor.
Besides that, I am a full time software developer (Go, Rust, TypeScript), and have also taken over project management work for 10+ years now, but you don't seem to like my comment, so you immediately try to imply I don't know what I'm talking about. That is very telling about you.
You are just making blanket statements, immediately assuming anyone disagreeing with you must not like the game, trying to dismiss any valid criticisms.
I don't know if you've noticed, but this is a forum, a public place of discussion, where opposing views can and will clash. If you are not up for that, maybe you should do something else with your life, instead of displaying your own ignorance and entitlement, hmm?

I asked if you were in Standard, as in the league, and still had currency and items from last league for this character. It is not the usual experience. Is it a fresh start in DotH league or not?

Nope - i am in the new league.
And i saw online some people having the same experience than me with ele huntress.
Did not play bleed even if it looks like some people have successes as well with that.

I agree with this guy. POE2 is currently in the best state ever. It is in such a good state I don't think GGG needs to spend any more dev time on it and it is ready for official 1.0 launch.
So GGG can finally now move the devs to POE1 and we can get that 3.26 update fingers crossed.
I believe POE2 is in such a great place it doesn't need any updates for the foreseeable future.

Then well, you don't want to go to New Zealand and show GGG how things should be done???
You seem so knowledgeable, i would like to see what did you code and what is the "scale" of project you have been working for.
Ignorance is present at any levels and in any professions, being humble is something missing a bit for online "commentators"
Lot of people who knows "better" but achieve or produce nothing or very little.
google is your friend if you want to educate yourself about volunteer bias.

Alright, fair game then. Your experience is your experience. I will have to disagree when you say people had success in acts 2-3 with huntress skills though, because a lot of the people complaining about those and minion skills are really good at the game. Those skills could probably use some love in those areas. Minions also need a little help mapping. Huntress is fine once she gets to maps.
Overall, the pace of the campaign should be quickened. It is far too slow for a game where people want to reroll characters and play fresh leagues for the foreseeable future. They gave us a nerf to monster hp which helped, but the real problem is the available intended tools early in the campaign are lacking, while the rare items are not dropping, resulting in the player being a turd at some points when they need to be prepared.

Yes i can imagine, the game is not as simple as some other ARPG so some may succed and some may fail.
I played mercenary when apparently people were saying it is trash and i had no issue during the campaign, after i am ok to roam a bit around to improve my gear if needed or get an extra level.
i guess it depends of the expecation you have.

Check the player retention numbers, they aren't good.

Let's "fumble" together.
I've been doing software development for over 40 years, more than 20 of those years professionally, and I've even worked on something related to one of the gaming consoles that some at GGG have very probably used (I know at least a couple people at GGG were set up with access to it), so maybe my opinion counts? I'm not really sure why any of that is relevant though; you don't have to be a professional chef to have an opinion on how your food tastes.
This game is bad; all the endgame changes in the world won't matter so long as the campaign is this awful to get through.
They've had 15 years to learn the lessons from POE1 only to repeat many of those same mistakes in POE2, in an even worse fashion. They even introduced some of their bad ideas from POE2 into POE1 over the past few years and have had time to process the feedback and make them less awful in POE1 (not good, mind you, just less awful; POE1 is still worse than it was because of it), but seem to have failed completely to take any of that feedback or those changes into account when it comes to those same mechanics in POE2. Rather than learning anything from the past, we're seeing just more of the same old overnerfing of player abilities (including nerfs for things that were already underpowered), overtuning of mobs and bosses, excessive lethality, excessive loss of player control over our characters, and so on. But starting from a worse baseline than POE1 did, while also being far less responsive to criticism than they were in the early days of POE1. How is anyone even supposed to execute these complex convoluted half-dozen-button combos they want us all to use when the payoff for doing so is barely noticeable and the time it takes to pull them off is also orders of magnitude greater than the time it takes for you to get killed?

I am guessing you are looking at it through the lens of a casual player that doesn't expect to do the campaign that often. If you look at it from a perspective of a player that is more invested, the length of the campaign becomes an issue. They don't see the campaign as something to be joyous about overcoming. It is simply an obstacle in the way of character prog. When it is too long and arduous, all the players like that will complain. They are used to playing builds that are efficient, and show their skill by completing areas faster, or by playing on HC/ SSF. All of those things basically require the campaign to be overcome with relative comfort by a skilled player, even with bad RNG on a meh build. Which basically just means a lot of skills should be better than they are and less annoying to spam.
