This is how the game signals a 1 shot from the first pack, outside the first town.

Oh come on now. Don't be dishonest.

You and I both know that skill is entirely too difficult to see.

This is not how it works.

The circle is quite clear to see and less punishing than other games as it's very fair to see along with a very fair time frame to react.

You see it, roll out of it, done. It's that simple.
Or after you die once to it take it as a valuable lesson of the game teaching you to not stand in attacks designed to damage your character.

Like I said. Don't be dishonest. You can barely see the circle. There's tons of mechanics in PoE 1, and PoE 2 that are like this.

I 100% totally agree with the OP. I fought that pack on three different new characters, including the huntress, and it's an absolute pain in the arse. What's worse, there a LOT of those 1-shot casters and it's pretty much impossible to not die multiple times. I'm fine with the damage I'm doing at this point but defenses simply are horrible. We need an adjustment via hotfix. When it comes (and if they fix the zoning-crash stuff) I'll go back and play the new league. But until then I'll be on my old toons.
The hag that even casts it audibly says its going to happen at your feet.

And its not even a one shot anyways, it doesnt take a char from 100 to 0.

Again skill issue.

Telling you how it is is not dishonesty.
Honestly being completely honest it's just a skill issue on your side if you die to something that simple, and fail to acknowledge that your very own gameplay is at fault for that.

Both PoE1 and PoE2 are very fair with damage indicators as each boss fight or enemy got a obvious indicator for heavier attacks, often along with a audio cue.
If you fail to pay attention to the input the game provides it's once again just a skill issue.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

Wow. So. From your viewpoint, and your experience. It's completely fair.

Okay, so, have you tried looking at it from other peoples viewpoints? Who might not be like yourself?
yup and we found its a skill issue

Yes, I'm sure that's all it boils down to.

Anyways. Glad you're having fun with your game. Best of luck to you.

There is no other viewpoint.

You're just complaining about your very own skill issues as you refuse to learn to get better after hitting a wall. Or you refuse to acknowledge that you're just at fault for your own actions, which by the way is also sort of a skill issue.

Meanwhile most other players do learn out of mistakes and simply get better at what they enjoy, and learn the things the game is telling you. Yes leaning obvious enemy attacks is one among many things that you as a player can learn and master.
Hence we had players doing boss fights without any gear and under level back in the past. lol

Why are you making assumptions now?

Nowhere in any of my comments did I ever say that I personally had issues with it.

It is not very visible, this is it at its MOST clear, and it is barely visible, it's dark red on a black/brown background, that's a hilariously bad design, then throw in other enemies, and player skills, 10 fps because the game is in a trash state and it becomes very hard to see.

Also please do tell me what other games are "More punishing" and very specifically how. Considering this is a 1 shot mechanic from the first pack outside of the first town?
